I guess you know all this for a fact. I guess you have seen them all working these machines. I guess you have been in each shop and watched them working...............I would guess NOT....Steve
For the most part about 98 percent anyway I would agree because in being allowed in a cue makers shop is a huge responsibility and liability at the same time, I use to allow everyone in and then a couple of real ass holes, no other way to say it, thought it would be fun to turn machines on, especially if there covered to keep a little dust off them, Joiner, table saws, band saws and then got upset when I threw them out, banned for life because their just stupid, another person saw nothing wrong with stopping the cue with his hand while it was being cut, WHY, because he wanted to see it, Now, no machines will run when people are there, If I'm fixing their cue, they have to sit, if they get up, the machine goes off, if they get up twice, their out. Why do I want to risk losing a finger, screwing up a repair or get a law suit. This does not apply to everyone but it does apply to most. Of all my customers only about 10 are allowed in while I work, most of them are members here, they can come check the status of their order or their friends order or just to hang out, I don't care, I trust them so I might even put them to work, I had one of my friends cutting ivory inlays, that was funny, I had another help glue veneers, but again they have earned my trust and most important, their not stupid. I like making everything myself and for the most part I'm a real bastard when it comes to my work, if you know anything about cues, every mans work has something that makes it his, not to hard to see. Want to own a business and pay insurance, How many people do you want there that could possibly sue you because they want a vacation and free money. This ladies and gentlemen is the real world.
