Pool is very cruel to its own, and the American pool culture seems to enjoy beating up a champion by the name of Earl Strickland, one of their own. What a shame.

The statement by Cuetec was classless. It just puts an exclamation point on the billiard industry's m.o. Many pro athletes have been let go by sponsors but at least they don't point blank say what the issue was. Something to the effect, "We are choosing to go in a new direction, yada yada yada" would have been more appropriate then to single Earl out personally. I think Earl will be hard pressed to get a major sponsor until this dies down as Cuetec has done him much damage.
