Custom Davis/Prince Full-Spliced Hickory Burl and Ebony

Man, that's breathtaking! Can't wait to see the finished product. Thanks for sharing.

Update #3

The veneered windows have been installed and I think they look excellent.
Next there will be some ivory inlayed inside the ebony windows, then the
cue will be ready to be sealed. Enjoy the photos:)

Thanks for the update. Will it have a wrap? A high quality black lizard wrap, perhaps a Tezu, would be fabulous.

It will definitely have a wrap. I have always liked good old Irish linen, but
I am not 100% sure what material I am going to use yet. Thanks for the
suggestion

You bet! Check out wrap material at superiorcues.com. You could direct him to your thread and he could make some sound recommendations for you.

That's going to be one SWEET A$$ cue... Wow!!
PS, get a fancy lizard wrap,,,or exotic skin for that cue, linen just won't do that stick any justice IMHO...

Update #4

Tim and I decided on an embossed leather wrap with an elephant ear pattern, which you can see underneath the cue in the second picture. The ivory has been inlayed inside the windows, what do you all think about this unique inlay pattern? I designed it to be something of a spin on a traditional propeller design, and Tim did a magnificent job of making it come to life. One more turn on this bad boy and then it's time for finishing. Tim is also going to be making joint protectors for me with some leftover burl. To say I am getting stoked would be an understatement! Enjoy the pics

Big fan of this cue. Well thought out and superbly executed. The inlay work looks good and proportioned nicely.

This cue oozes class. Amazing woods, phenomenal design and beautiful execution.

Going with a long butt sleeve and super short butt cap allowed you to put some good sized windows in there while still being able to show off that beautiful burl. Great choices all around.

Update #5

Everything is sealed and ready for the spray booth. The figure of the burl
is really starting to show itself, this wood is truly amazing. Shafts are ready
for ivory ferrules and tips, although I still have not decided on what tips to
use. Tim also made me some matching hickory burl joint protectors, pretty
awesome how he put matching rings on the shaft protectors. I think it is
safe to say that Mr. Prince has a keen eye for detail! Enjoy the pics...

Update #6

Cue is finished! Tim said he had a chance to hit
some balls with it, and it plays better than it looks.
Kinda hard to believe considering how beautiful it
is! I can't say enough about Tim and John, I would
highly recommend a Davis/Prince cue! Here are the
final specs:

58" long and 19.0-19.2oz weight depending on shaft
3/8x10 elforyn joint with signature Davis/Prince double rings
Ebony forearm with maple/black/maple/black veneers
Four hickory burl points, full-spliced
Embossed leather wrap, elephant ear pattern
Hickory burl butt sleeve
4 veneered ebony windows with ivory inlays
20-slot trim rings with matching veneer deco rings
13mm shafts with ivory ferrules and Ultraskin tips
Matching hickory burl joint protectors

And of course here are some pics. If you are going
to the Windy City cue show next weekend, you will
see this cue there! Thanks for looking

Wow. The burl is amazing. I think this might be my favorite cue that I've seen on here yet. Thanks for sharing.
