Custom Pool Room

Anymore pictures? I was just thinking about bumping this thread this morning, i see that i'm not the only one suffering with withdrawal.. :frown:

Backyard billiards

Well so far I decided on Backyard Billiards. I designed a name design and need to paint it on the Bar mirror. I printed it 36' wide and placed it on the mirror to see how it will look and it looked nice. i also want to incorporate it into the table lights. I'm considering making new lights to minimize the ilumination of the room. Here's the layout.

Why don't print up some shirts with your logo, see if people will buy some for reasonable price. Use the money for upgrades to room, cues, case, kids college fund etc. I'd buy one in black or grey. Just a thought.

I know its been a while since I last posted or visited the site. I don’t want anyone to think I just bailed on AZ, we had just been enjoying the room for a while and I had plans this past month to begin building new table lights and the banquette (booth) style seating when my father had a health issue and had been hospitalized for a month. He just got home Tues and is doing very well. Aside from spending lots of nights at the hospital I haven’t done much to the room nor played. I’ve decided to postpone any pool nights until my father can physically play again.. I’ll be sure to post the pics and updates when I begin.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad. I know the feeling brother :( I hope he gets back on the table right away. When he does I want you to update us, even some cool pics of you enjoying the room with some lucky friends and family.

Much love to you and yours.

Dan, your pops is the most important issue right now. Prayers go out for his full recovery.

Tell your dad that a LOT of people appreciate him bringing up such a talented son.

Wow! I haven't visited this thread for a while and what a great surprise to see the finished pictures (or almost anyway). It looks phenomenal - thank you so much for taking the time to share this with all of us. You are amazing!

May you and your family enjoy the room for many years to come.

Dave

I have a lifetime average of about three out of five for driving a nail in straight. So this project is beyond awesome.

Have enjoyed watching your room come together for a while now.
Glad to hear your Dad is doing good, best to you and your family.

Side Table Ideas...

Simonis posted this photo on Facebook this morning... REALLY cool idea... just in case you somehow ran out of any ideas of your own. I haven't been on AZB in quite awhile... other projects and family matters consuming me but it is so nice to revisit this thread and see all of that handiwork completed.

Wow

Fantastic!
Kinda makes me feel like a chump because I haven't done anything to my already built room downstairs ;-)
Great job...

TV mount

Well I know it's been a while since I've posted any updates. I still have plans to build new lights and a banquette (booth seating) but with my Dad doing better we've been enjoying the room a little bit. And with football season and the MLB playoffs I got tired of the TV being down low I decided to make a TV Ceiling mount.

Again as you all know me by now, I don't like spending money unless it's nescessary. I spent $11 for screws and bolts and used scrap pieces metal.

I welded a flat sheet of 14"x14" 1/8 with some angle iron for bracing and to lag screw into the top header. I then grinded, primered and painted it flat black. I used a flat sheet I bent to attach my exsisting wall mount to the down pipe. I drilled one hole in the 1.5' pipe and several in the 1.25" for adjustment. I then screwed three 3" lag bolts into the ceiling rafter for support.
I forgot to take pictures after I hung the TV. It's a 42" LG. It looks great up in the corner.

Thanks for the idea. Thats really cool! My dad has been on me about not enough counter space for his drinks.

Dan...Sorry to have missed you last month, when I was down in SA visiting my son. Still hoping to stop in "take in" your fabulous room the next time I'm in TX (which should be early Feb)! Best wishes for you dad!

Whats the final total for building the room approx? The engineers estimate that I have put together to have that room built here from concept (autoCAD) drawings, surveying the lot if you had to, other engineer fees that go along with, presenting a site plan with local P and Z, attending city council meetings and asking for any variances if any, underground utility services to be stubbed at location of site, labor and materials but not including a case a beer or 5 here and there, my total is $39.000.
