Cut Off Date For Players Refund U.S Open

The condition of the possible refunds were only if the 75K was not on time. Now that it is on time, the possible refunds are a moot point.

LOL, one time years back I entered then decided against going when a travel partner bailed on me. I called to see if I could get a refund and they acted like I was nuts, so I let a friend take my place. He took 17th place (tie) by the way.

I don't understand "Barry Speak". How many paid in full players are there as of 08/14/2015? How did it get from 30 to 60 in one day? Johnnyt

It did not. Barry is counting chickens that haven't hatched yet. The 15 players at the bottom of his newsletter I believe have requested visa invitations from Pat. I'm making an educated guess that is what Barry means. It is very poorly writtten, and difficult to understand what he means. Even with those 15 invitations, we still don't get to the 60's number he stated in that relesae.

Jay seems to be clear that the number of players being calculated for the purposes of the bet is based on there being more than 104 players actually being there and being in the draw and playing in the tournament. How does that make him a dick?

So in your scenario, if someone paid, was in the draw but didnt play (forfeited), he wouldnt be counted- I was willing to give him those guys. It was never clear to me-sorry. All i wanted was clarity and all he wanted was to be a wise guy. .

Thanks for explaining. The trouble with reading things is that each can take the tone differently. I took it as clarification vs condescention

i can't pull my notes right now, but off the top of my head, Roberta told me last year, that the cancellation terms were approx 1-5 days prior to Open, with an approx $30-$40 cancellation fee. this year's rule might be different. Barry's office would need to address your OP.

i vaguely recall back in JAN/FEB, some talk about a cut-off date & mandatory disclosure on this year's purse, for all involved to react. (perhaps it was a conversation i had with Barry.) Barry's office would need to address your OP.

the newslink for summoning pool halls/qualifiers is a great idea! and the players should know their bottom line before they come out-of-pocket $1000 entry & $1500 expenses.

Maybe it was last years Open I remember a cut-off date for players to get their money back. If it was last year, why not the same this year? Johnnyt
