Darkside Promotions Global Man Hunt..

If Dennis Hatch feels he can compete with the world number 1 and world champion at 8 ball, then i must say there would be serious consideration for this game to take place.

Until then only Mr Hatch knows that !

Your country brags big, which i think is awsome but can and do they play big ?

You have the so called gambling rights of the world, lets see if you can offer a player that has the led in his armour to step forward

Darkside........Closeing in

There's some kid Wu, in Taiwan, that plays good 8 ball. Have you reached out to him?

Eric

Darkside and Darren - you guys really have balls of steel to come up with this - kudos to you. Bugsy & Ronnie Alcano will most certainly jump on the challenge, Ronnie considers himself to be the best 8ball player.. Hope you guys can work it out.

Darren is going to PI for the WC 10 ball - could this match be played there? Lets hope it will happen:thumbup:

Well, I don't know about our country bragging big but certainly in our country some bigger matches have taken place.

Actually though I think that the Philippines has the bragging rights of the world because they have a roster of players that will step up to plate all the time.

Perhaps you should consider taking your player and show on the road to them. I once read on here that they are willing to bet up to half a million dollars against any American. I would tend to think that includes any Brit as well.

I imagine if Darren wants to come here and play a round robin, 10-ball, one pocket, 8-ball, and 14.1 then he can get played for the 50 or possibly more.

As it stands you have chosen the least popular game amongst US Pros and asked them to travel around the world to play for high stakes. I personally don't see any one taking the challenge from the US side but I could be surprised.

Well, we await the few others. !!!!!!!!!

SvB was offered this match in the phillipines and turned it down...

Darkside.......Needs dooers not talkers

Do you think that AZB is the best place to look for this type of Action? Certainly getting in touch with people like The Action Report would be better to get you lined up with the people with players and money to make such a game happen.

If Darren is the best 8 Ball player in the world why did he not snap off the IPT's $500,000 first prize?

Personally, I find this challenge to be a fool's errand. No matter who steps up to play it's gambling. Especially with alternate breaks. Most players don't want to fly around the world to flip a coin for $50,000. Not that they are looking for the nuts but they would rather not be the one who goes to the other guy's home court if the match is relatively even.

I will buy the feed though if I can.

Hey Eric

If you are referring to CC Wu-he now resides in and plays out of Singapore! Actually I'm sure you knew that and spaced it out.

Dyno-mite spent quite a bit of time over there in years past, in fact.
...If Darren is the best 8 Ball player in the world why did he not snap off the IPT's $500,000 first prize?...

I am sure you really don't need that answered...but:
- The best player does not always win, or
- Today's Darren plays better than then's Darren.

Or any combo of either or...

Would love to see this happen. But the best way to ensure that a big money match never happens is to bring it up here.

lol

am not looking for the nuts

99% of my money matches have all been in america and philippines!! ranging from 1k-20k a man and more with side bets!!

2006 was my first year playing american style pool with the equipemt etc ipt was 8ball i was still learning the equipment and size of tables and the rules.. as before that i played on bar tables with marbles and small pockets and 7mm tips snooker style cue for around 13years..

my weakness was the break and working the cueball and my break is still not great especially against the likes of shane and co...

but alternate break on diamond table ill play anybody in world in the uk..
as thats where i can get staked the most..

yes ill still my matches in states and philippines but be for lot less!

but if the right game comes along and we like it then am sure we can come up with anything upto 50-100k esp 8ball... but if reyes, alcano, orcullo,wu,etc want to play they will have to come to england for that sort of cash as anywhere else i wouldnt beable to get staked for much

also we still want the return with hatch in may for 40k a man 10ball but wpa rules call shot!! if he doesnt want that game we will consider other offers ...

asking to play a match in uk is not too much to ask for when 99% of my games have been in different countries around the world!

if nobody takes it no problem ,u get nothing if u dont ask

regards

darren

Well, one can only assume the yanks dont like the offer......

I suppose we better look further away to the east..

Darkside.......The force is weak coz i think they will tweak

Nothing wrong with coming here as I see it. Coming here IS coming to Tar and everyone else at the same time.

You're right...I did read that he moved to Singapore, just forgot.

Good luck to Daz on getting a game. I hope you stick it out and continue to leave it out in AZB; this place should get the word out nicely.

Makes sense to me. I personally was a little turned off by the attitude. Not Mr. Appleton's but the Darkside Promotions person's attitude.

Mr. Appleton has shown plenty of gamble and a lot of character in his endeavors.

I suppose that for myself I feel like a match of this magnitude could have been worked out in private and then announced to the world. I truly feel that to date no promoter has topped the mega-match of Efren Reyes and Earl Strickland's legendary race to 120 for $100,000. Originally it was for $50,000 and the promoter just up and doubled it. In that match you had two players on top of their game at the time going at for the largest prize to date.

The only rival to me in the modern era is the SVB/Pagulayan rivalry and ultimate match.

I understand that this is a challenge where the two players are staked and that the Efren/Earl match was not. I understand the barking that goes on. It's just that Darren knows all the people on Earth who are even willing to consider this type of match. He knows full well how to contact them so presumably Darkside has full access to this as well.

I have seen people play one pocket for $50,000 and $60,000 and been in places where $10,000 sets couldn't get 5 spectators. So this is why the "Americans have no gamble" theme is kind of bothersome to me. Americans have plenty of gamble. They just like to be comfortable when they do it and not have to travel to far.

I have to say that I have enjoyed watching your rise in pool. I have many British friends and they all LOVE to gamble, more than Asians in my opinion. One of the best gambling games on the pool table I have enjoyed and continue to enjoy is Kill It. I am sure you are familiar with this game.

Your go for it attitude and willingness to mix it up wherever you go is really refreshing. Nothing wrong with that.

Congratulations on earning the sort of backing that is willing to put you in the box against all comers for the sort of money you have behind you. Not many players enjoy that status.

I hope you find your game. Your terms are fair and not slanted in the least in my opinion.

Personally, if you play Efren then I will have to bet against you. That man just comes alive for big money in a way that I have seen few people do. In fact, I am sure that if you can get Efren in the game then you stand to win quite a bit as most of the world will want to bet against you.

I would like to see you and Alex Pagulayan do this. I admire this young man's heart and determination as well.

Best to you Mr. Appleton. You can always be counted on to stir up something.

Can anyone spell YANG? How about WU WU? I can see one of these guys (and their backers of course) jumping on this one.

Yeah, Wu won the World 8-ball championship. I am not sure that in a long race like that Darren would like the firepower of Wu. The only saving grace is the alternate break format will stop Wu from putting a 10-pack on him. IMO alternate break saves Darren from being blown out of the water by someone like Wu, that particular rule might stop him from having to deal with Wu, that and the fact he must play it in England or he has no backing. It is kind of a safe offer, most of the Eastern players not only "don't" travel internationally to play events, they are under contract and sanctioning obligations that state they cannot.

It is like poking a caged tiger with a stick.

BTW who are you? Are you the money? because if you are then grow a set and go play Wu or Yang in Asia. Don't sit there and state "well this can only take place in England because.... the Taiwan players cannot play here in England!"

If you are not the money, and not the player, then you are just the mouthpiece. If you are the money then jump a plane, go to Singapore, and bring your $50,000 to leave with Wu. Perhaps you can get a nice venue to play in at the new Marina Sands Casino and be a small event near the grand opening.

You don't know the guy. If you did you certainly would'nt take it like that. Darkside is a nice and funny man... a bit sarcastic... but funny if you can understand him. He is the promoter of this challenge match and try to do a lot for the sport. This guy can also play a bit

More Talking.....Roadie put the word out geeza

Darkside......Wants the game not the chat

I think that you know that the word is out. There is not going to be some surprise unknown player come out of the woodwork to challenge the "World's Number One" (your words) to a $50,000 match.

If this is the best you can do to arrange a game then I am afraid your promotional skills are a bit on the inadequate side.

Certainly Mr. Appleton knows who to contact if you don't to arrange a game if one can be arranged. In case you haven't been around long enough to know this let me tell you how it is, there is no money in pool. What you are offering is something that happens rarely and you want all the conditions to be your way. There are very few, possibly none, backers who will fly around the world to gamble on a pool match which is even at best.

If you truly just want to gamble then in a few more months you can take Mr. Appleton to the Derby City Classic and he can stay in action for nine days and nights and probably longer. However you must understand that as the World's Number One player Mr. Appleton will be expected to make fair games with those who aren't at his level. Just as Efren Reyes, the true world's number one player, does frequently.

Of course there is more talk. This is a discussion forum. Surely you didn't think that someone on this board was going to allow pride and ego to overcome sense and step up immediately on here to simply accept your "hoorah" challenge without working out the details.
