Darren Forfeits Beloit

I have no problem because I usually try and do the right thing and take money out of my pocket, when it's the right thing to do. An apology is nice and all but...

Lou Figueroa

Good for you.

I took money out of my pocket lots of it. :-(

Sky's backers are cowards. All they care about is the money and that's sad. They could have said, 'let the players play' even 30 min late. But instead they let their greed rob the fans of a match they came to see.

If I were Sky I would have demanded the match played 30 min late. It's not so unreasonable as to cut into the next match, so what's the problem. "The rules..." Nah it's the move of a business-man not a player.

Mistakes happen, but you people decided this match would not be played because it was in your financial interest. You are sad little people. Cowards.

That is never going to happen. Then all these guys would sleep in.

... Oh and then I pay taxes on my income ---- did Sky have taxes taken out or a W9 issued on the 16K he just won?
...
I assume that the promoter knows that if he doesn't issue 1099s to all of the winners then he, the promoter, is responsible for paying taxes and penalties on that income. I assume that he will issue 1099s to avoid such problems. This probably applies to the calcutta as well.

Here we go again with this failed logic. Sorry Royce but I can only be blunt and think comments like this that I have heard before are just stupid.

I spend $400 a month on gas. $100 a month on dry cleaning.

Wear and tear on my car.

Then each year I buy new clothes, new shoes.

Not to mention I spent $40,000 on college.

Oh and then I pay taxes on my income ---- did Sky have taxes taken out or a W9 issued on the 16K he just won?

Should I deduct all of this off my income if someone asks how much I make?

I dont think he's claiming this is unique to pool players... obviously pretty much everyone has expenses for their job. Most jobs don't require out of pocket world travel 12 times a year though.

I don't know what Darren makes nor do I know what he spends to make it, but I would assume his expenses are more than your average person. Write off or not, you're still paying for them.

Especially when you are staying in hotel rooms by yourself and not splitting with another player. And buying airline tickets on 3 hours notice. :)

Skylark Woodson... New Road name born here for sure... and maybe for a tee shirt or even a football jersey. Get'em Woodshed! Take em out back and spank that A$$.

what to do
what to do

Yes, someone overslept. How terrible. I mean, it's not like he was sleeping during Benghazi or anything

So, when a guys fantasy team starts losing cause his number one pick was suspended for (pick one), assault, rape, theft, drugs, wife beating, he should send everyone a little sumting, sumting, to make it all right

I swear pool players/fans are the dumbest people ever. No wonder pros don't even bother to come here. You whiny little girls want to critique and bash everything just for the sake of it.

Everyone that thinks Darren owes money needs to seriously get laid, ASAP. That is all.

Threads like this are why I left AZB for the last year.

What's good for the game? As if the game is "good" to begin with. It's a game that has always been played in the shadows. I love it, but on the same token, don't even think very highly of it myself. Why should anyone care what happens in, or to pro pool? If pro pool fell off the face of the planet tomorrow, 99% of the people on this forum would have very little, if any change in their pool life.

I'd like to see better for the pros, but I honestly can't say they deserve better than what they're getting right now.

I wonder how many people that bet on Seattle got a Pete Carroll "im sorry" check in the mail? hmmm

At least Seattle had 46 guys on the field that knew how to work an alarm clock and those that bet on them got action for their dough.

Oh goodie. The first hand wringer is here.

IMO a pro player showing up on time for his match might make a decent start as to what's "good for the game."

And NOT one of those 46 guys had to play a game the night (into the wee hours) before the Superbowl, correct ?

Of course, the Superbowl is played at night, so yeah, they didn't need an alarm clock
