The acrylic pool table David is sitting on I built for him.

Also built many other acrylic items for the pool room - tables, stools, cue displays, cue lockers, an entire wall with a door, triangle & chalk holder can be seen on the table on the cover photo.

The cast from SNL played on the table Saturday nights after the show. Lorne Michaels gouged the foot rail with his belt buckle.

David opened Amsterdam Billiards in 1990 with Greg and Ethan Hunt.

Amsterdam Billiards on Amsterdam Avenue was his first room. He played pool in Society Billiards at the Cafe Society (one of the first upscale rooms in NYC after the 'Color of Money').

Dave Klotsky was the houseman at Society - he gave Brenner lessons and left Society to be the houseman at Amsterdam Billiards.

Brunswick hired David as a spokes person - he attended the 1991 BCA trade show with Brunswick.

I was a vendor that year and David spent some time in my booth glad handing potential customers.

As a kid I just loved listening to him tell a story. The only one better than him was Buddy Hackett. Man Buddy was funny, and filthy.

Well, Mark.....it was a little brief and mysterious.....
.....I started looking for acts where David would say NICE.....
...I thought it might be a trademark expression like Rodney's "I don't get no respect."

Enthusiasm for brevity can be confusing sometimes.
