There are a lot more accomplishments than this. I believe she played with a team that won the VNEA Intermediate Womens divison title in Vegas a couple of weeks ago. Don't remember how she did in singles. It's on the VNEA web page tho. I was thinking she played the BCA Vegas tourney this year too. I will look at it.

A horrible ending to this story. In my opinion, once this guy is convicted, he should be turned over to her friends and family for an appropriate punishment.

They just had a news report on her on the local news. My heart goes out to her friends and family.

Yes, her team Answer That just won the VNEA International Intermediate division this year. Also, she won a Charley for singles as well... 3rd place but not sure if it was in 8 ball or 9 ball, Masters division.

In years past for VNEA: http://www.vnea.com/PastTrWinners.pdf
She's won:
Women's Regular Team (Ship & Shore #5) 1996
8 ball Intermediate Singles (2006)
Scotch Doubles Intermediate (w/ Fred Belcher) (2006)

This year she swept MI VNEA: 8 ball Masters, 9 ball, Scotch Dbles, and her team Answer That won the Masters division.
She also won 2nd place in Indiana VNEA Masters this year. She won third at Masters 8 Ball at the MI BCA tournament at the Soaring Eagle Casino, and her team won 2nd in the Masters division.

That's just off the top of my head. I know there are many, many more.

She and Kenny Brisbon won 2009 Open Scotch Doubles for BCA Nationals in Vegas.

A story and video about Dawn

It's so bad to hear about the result of this investigation concerning Dawn, it's a really crazy situation. I have been trying to keep people updated in the pool world since she lived the pool player lifestyle most of her close friends are pool players. I woke up late today and as I suspected a sad resolution had fallen over the screen as I read the updated news. Allow me to tell a story and share some video with you if you may choose to receive it.

I had just seen her on Saturday at the Motorcity League team championship and I will tell you that during her match up with Eric Green one the games she had broke the balls pretty good, but the pattern had the solids blocked paths to the nearest pockets. I remember commenting to Sherodaka that well "she won't be getting out here" and lo and behold there was an out if you played perfect position on the first 3 shots which Dawn managed to do and then she ran the table. It was a really impressive break and run. ----

Some people know that I am the local and sometimes traveling billiards video journalist with my internet pool channel tvmike.tv based in Detroit Mi. A few months after I started streaming, this below footage was shot and recorded on the internet. Little did I realize that it could mean so much to people one day.

I regret not covering any more of Dawn shooting but it just turned out that way because she was not exactly local to us but there are a couple videos on my old ustream channel with footage of Dawn playing with Adam Smith in a scotch doubles tournament that my girlfriend Sherodaka and I run. I am sorry but the quality is not up to par with what I do now, this video was before I even got my camcorders and went HD. In any case you can watch them any time if so desired. This may be the only footage on the internet of Dawn playing I don’t know and some of it is not complete but it is what we have.

2. http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/10841076 - Dawn Fital + Adam Smith Vs India Slaughter + Rowland Baker - Hotseat Match
3. http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/10846949 - Dawn Fital + Adam Smith Vs India Slaughter + Rowland Baker - Finals

When I first read your post,,it seemed as if you wer'e plugging yourself and your buisness. :sorry:

But then after thinking about,,,you are right. Video of her playing matches in a tournament,,which you might be the only one that has it,,could be a great thing for people that are close to her.

IMO, death seems to lenient for that guy.

I am a firm believer in the death penelty but to say it is lenient for anyone is laughable. The way it is done is brutal, not in a "pain" sense but the mental dread the person goes through in the last few hours of their life knowing that they will be killed and there is not a thing they can do to save their own life and knowing for certain that noone will come to save their life. I can think of no worse way to go then to go through the prolonged mental torture of your execution day.

Disagree. There are certainly more terrifying ways.

To die as a result of due process, vs. the anger of another human is incomparable IMO.

Agree 100%

If this guy even gets the death penalty he will have all the time in the world to say good bye to his friends and family and tell them whatever it is that he wants them to know before he dies. He'll be arrested and incarcerated in a humane way. He won't be kidnapped & murdered violently one day out of the blue when he isn't expecting it. He'll know exactly when he will die and will have a chance to say his peace and not suffer the pain that poor young woman had to suffer. No comparison, not even close.

I agree that there is no comparison and I agree with the fact that he will be able to say his peace, unlike her. But I would still FAR preffer to die in a violent confrontation where the outcome is an unknown and fight/fight responses give you less time to really think about your own impending mortality. I want a surprise death for myself, I don't want a prolonged period of knowing it is coming.

The guy will deserve what he gets, she did not deserve what she got, I simply disagree that facing ones own execution is easy, and anyone who thinks it would be I am not really sure has really thought about what it would be like in those last 12 hours, the last meal, the cell being opened, the last walk, being prepped, all of it.

And just in case anyone thinks I might just be a little left leaning or soft, I actually think that people on death row should in fact be used as medical test subjects for terminal diseases instead of simple executions, use a person like Ted Bundy to save future lives, give him cancer and then use him like a lab rat. There is a certain level of justice in that IMO, those who take life can end up saving others, through no will of there own.

An article in today's Detroit Free Press says that Dawn lived in an apartment with her boyfriend and ex-husband. It also mentioned that police had previously been called to the apartment on domestic abuse issues. All three worked at the same Walmart. The ex-husband was not a suspect in her murder. The article mentioned that the police have a potential motive in the killing, but it was not released to the press. It is suspected that the boyfriend killed Dawn in the apartment, bound her body with duct tape, loaded it into a large suitcase, took her car, and drove down 94 and 65 to Indiana, where he discarded the suitcase in a swampy area. He was spotted later digging a hole, apparently trying to bury some of her belongings (potentially to disguise his crime, and make it seem like she just disappeared). The boyfriend will be extradited back to MI to face murder charges.

RIP Dawn...the pool world will miss you.:(

helping with funeral expenses

Anyone interested in donating items or funds to help Dawns family to cover her funeral expenses please let me know.

She has so many friends and many are going to hold benefit events to help raise money and to remember Dawn.

Please contact if you have an interest in helping.

Thank you

some type of justice

Greg Noack is being held without bail now and is of course being charged with murder. Even with life in prison he gets off too easily after taking someones life but at least he's caught and will face some justice.

Anyone wishing to donate to assist the family with funeral expenses please let me know. We will be auctioning off items tonight and tomorrow to raise funds for the expenses and will also be collecting monetary donations if offered.

RIP Miss Dawn

Problem with the death penalty is that there have been many cases in which exonerations have occurred- with DNA testing proving they had the wrong guys. That is why they stopped the death penalty in Illinois- something like 7 guys were exonerated in a short period of time.

Anyhow, back to this topic- very sorry to hear of her death.
