Day 3 Results

No worries Sniper.

To be perfectly honest, every chance Ronnie had he ran out, it was just that Johnny was working his break to perfection, but Ronnie couldn't get one ball of his break.

Match analysis = All about the break :)

The break seems to be the story of the tournament so far, it is very clear that the players with best break (Archer and Bustamante come to mind) are dominating to this point.

Do the players look tense? Is either Ronnie or Johnny intimidated by each other does it transpire?

Neither of them have the word `intimidated` in their dictionary and infact they both intimidate others just with their presence at the table. They are the greatest.

Buckster - is Eurosport coverage over for the night? I'm assuming it is, I thought I remembered them saying they'd have two hours per night... Just curious...

Wondering about cues

What are the international players using? American style cues or do some use billiard or snooker style? I don't imagine a Snooker player has a break cue.

My other question is. How busy is Joe Blackburn and is he changing many tips to help players under table conditions. Somebody Please ask Joe.

Looks like O'Sullivan v. McKenna is going on at the moment... Can't wait to hear the results of this match, being the two brits in the group, and each shooting pretty well it seems. McKenna had 6 B&R's on the way to an 8-6 defeat of Daulton!

The motto of the day seems to be ...

When the going gets tough, the tough get going. But someone better tell Shannon Daulton that ... Brian Groce is holding his own, Walden needs to pick it up. Matlock is getting up to speed today. There will be a few casualties. Niels picks up his game.

Gabe

Gabe beat Broxson, 8-1. His third score was posted before 4:15 Vegas time....lol He had 4 B&R's. He has won all 3 matches so far.

Orcollo 8-6 Deuel with a couple of nice outs to finish.

Mika 8-6 over Archer.

Hann another big win over Marlon if u haven't already seen it.

Wimms just blew an easy win over San Souce, but may get a second chance.

Looks like Mike the Mouth is out!

If the bracket plays out, like it looks like it will, as I predicted last week, Mike Sigel will not survive the 2nd round. I wonder what his excuses will be today?

I was just about to start a thread about that, looks like he's going to struggle to make it!

He said he isn't playing well enough to beat the good players. He is very unhappy with his own performance.

Sigel can be a real jerk but there is no denying that he can play. He's gonna have a tough, tough comeback though if he wants to make a splash on the IPT. Reyes never quit, Varner never quit, Parica never quit, and Strickland never quit. Of those players only Reyes seems to have gotten better with age. BUT all of them have had noce victories in the last decade. Sigel was completely out of competition for 10 years. That has got to be weighing heavily on him right now. Especially with the build up.

I'll tell you what. Maybe Kevin Trudeau is glad to see Mike taken down a peg or two. Mike is probably the one guy in the room with an ego bigger than Kevin's.

Who's left that is undefeated both rounds?
According to the stats page, only 5 players are still undefeated for the whole tournament...Orcullo, Alcano, Bustamante, Carl Morris, and Rafael Martinez.

Though...it's guaranteed that either Orcullo or Alcano will not be undefeated by the end of the night, since they are in the same group and have yet to play each other.

My horse (Alex P.) is hurting after being trampled on by Varner. He needs to win his next two games in order to advance. It won't be easy, but I'm sure he'll muster up the heart.

Varner never quit,
And speaking of my pick to win it all, he just put up another 5 B&R's after doing the same to Alex. This one against Frost. Varner is undefeated in this round, and reads like he's getting stronger and stronger.

Top 10 by winning %, 2 Americans still in there, Bustamante is playing great, If your winning 77% of your games and running out at a 36% clip, your going to be hard to beat:-)

I just watched a bit of Edward Montel, the Canadian based Filipino (I think). He's looking relaxed and leading Fabio 6-3.

Hann and Younger also looking through in the 4th round.

Earl lost his 4th round match 8-5. He was playing in a friendly mood.

....Colin posting under JAM's name again...ooops...lol

Maybe Varner never quit but he did have a stroke at age 54 or so didnt he? Pretty amazing performance!
