Day 4 (last 36) Results.

DAMN... most every group is tight as a snare drum goin' into the 8:00pm matches.

Who gets to go forward is certainly in the balance. Only a small handful of players are essentially already out.

Barbox stud David Matlock is really putting a hurting on his group with three wins so far.
Efren better win his next one to secure a spot in the next round.
My other money men, Orcullo and Manalo, are sitting nicely to advance to the next round. :D

Very crappy situation for the Filipinos in group 76.

Orcullo plays Pagulayan for the final match of the night. If Dennis wins, he eliminates Alex. If Dennis loses, then Alex advances. It seems like Dennis will advance win or lose.

I know this match will be greatly scrutinized. If Alex does win, I'm sure there'll be people that will accuse Dennis and Alex of fixing the match so both can advance. Even if it was a perfectly legit match with Alex winning, you know there will always be those accusations.

Although I REALLY want to see a Dennis/Alex final, part of me kinda wishes that Dennis wins so there will be no such accusations at all. Maybe it'll be better for the Filipinos as a whole if Alex doesn't advance.

This is why they should organize the rounds such that fellow countrymen face each other at the very beginning of each round, such that they don't have to face each other in the final matches of the round.

Similar crappy situation can be said about Santos and Django in group 74. We'll see how things turn out.

Interesting points you have brought up as I was thinking along the same lines.

I understand your point jsp, but knowing their past....you know Alex and Dennis will certainly play to play, no goofy business.

I highly doubt it, it's not like their the best of friends :p

I'm definite both Alex and Dennis will give it their all.

The best scenario for me would be if Alex won a hill-hill battle over Dennis, and everyone else is just too damned tired to even think up the possibility of funny-business. ;)

Historically, Dennis is favored against Alex in money games and Alex is favored in tournaments. Funny how that is but there better not be any goofy play there as a chunk has been put on the line between their followers here. Quite a few favor Dennis considering Dennis' recent tournament performances. But then again, Alex wasn't in the recent ones

Oh man, Efren almost has to win against Mick Hill to advance, and it looks tight!

Thanks for the update:-)

He will do it! Watch the Magician!

Colin again...
oops...Busta wins 8-5. They were sitting in the wrong chairs before so I got the progress scores back to front.

Mainly watching the Hann and Hill games. Hann needs to win even though he leads the group with 3 wins. This overall percentage decider is too strong a weight. It's like a free match to a guy who may be just a percent ahead going into a round robin. It needs to be weighted I think.

WOOOOHOOOO!
My Money Men are still striving for their chance to put a little chunk of change back in my pocket.
Reyes is through after pulling off a nice and much needed win over Mick Hill.
Orcullo is through barely by his winning percent.
Manalo only lost one match and advances easily.

Now all I can do is wait. :o

Pinoys still going strong

Reyes, Bustamante, Pagulayan, Orcollo, Luat, Manalo advances to next round.

Alcano needs to win over Strickland to advance.

Sambajon and Lining are out.

I'm a happy camper. Both Orcullo and Alex advance, and Efren and Busta made it through as well. Efren's hill-hill win over Hill must have been intense! Any recaps on that match...JAM...Colin?

Everything turned out the way I hoped so far...except for Lining losing to Martinez. I really thought that Lining would pull it off.

But it's nice to see that Martinez didn't completely fold, considering he lost his previous 4 matches. It shows great professionalism. I'm sure Rico Diks is very appreciative of Rafael's efforts. ;)
