DCC Straight Pool Challenge

I couldn't find the date/time for the Straight Pool Challenge on the DCC Schedule of Events. I may be going blind in my old age.

Bob, when is that event and is there any separate prize money or weight for female players? I will be sponsoring two very highly ranked WPBA pros for their first time at the DCC.

And in case everyone is not aware, it is disclosed on the DCC site, so is not confidential information...but Bob Jewett is putting up the entire $10,000.00 purse for this event out of his own pocket.

I can hear the ROAR of cheers coming from all who love the game!

He's putting up the dough again this year? I was deeply impressed that he did it ONCE. I can't imagine he could do it again. If so he is beyond charitable.

This is DEFINITELY number three (I attended the first two, and will NOT miss number three either).
 
That is outstanding. Bob's one helluva guy for doing this. I wish there was a way I could give him gold rep or something.

Yes, but I believe the first had sponsorship. Last year and this year is straight from Bob.

I'm using my very best stealth marketing for the event.

Just like last year, the prelims will be on Sunday through Wednesday. The finals will be different this year. The plan is for the top eight finalists to play a single elimination tournament mostly on the TV table so we can get some tape. Pat Fleming has offered to pay $500 to any player who is willing to describe his own run over 100 that is shot on the TV table. We will probably allow any out run over 50 to continue.

Someone has volunteered to set up a video-to-disk recorder for the prelims, so we will likely get a few 100+ runs on home-quality video. We will be in the Drinkwater Room this year like the first year, but with only two tables and hopefully more seating.

The present plan is to have a separate women's event with the same entry fee ($100) with $300 added money for each entrant. The top third will be paid.

If anyone would like to add to the prize fund, I think we can arrange to display your banner or such prominently. The total prize fund so far is $10,000 added and 100% of the entry fees, plus any bonus that Pat pays and probably a bonus from Diamond for the first run of 200. On the pro-cut Diamonds, that last bonus is fairly safe. I'll go out on a limb and offer $10,000 for any run over 526 captured on video during the event.
