Deleting threads

CJ just keep killing them with wit and kindness. They can't stand it. Barton was easy for them to crack. Keep the upper hand sir. It's just like that Howard Stern Movie Private Parts. Cant quote word for word but goes something like this. While reading the radio poll results.
95% of the people say they can't stand him.
Well, why do they listen.
They want to hear what he will say next.
They read every word you type.

I concur with those who believe that no thread should be deleted just because it gets a little heated, off track or nasty. We are (mostly) adults here. We have opinions and can respectfully disagree with each other. I, for one, can be swayed by a well reasoned argument.

A couple of years ago I found myself to be somewhat annoyed with CJ Wiley’s self promotion. It created a bit of a problem for me because I found some of the comments from him valid, interesting and humorous; I just didn’t like the constant self promotion because, in spite of the fact that I could admire the energy and effort he put into his business, I felt he sometimes went a little overboard. I asked myself if I would prefer that CJ did not participate at all. The answer was a big ‘hell no’. The knowledge he brought and the valid, humorous and interesting stuff he brought outweighed the shameless self promotion. Although, I do feel from time to time (recently) maybe a little more self control is needed, on the whole I enjoy seeing CJ weigh in on whatever subject he wants to.

I think it unfortunate when a solid contributor to these forums such as Blue Hog Rider is put on the defensive and feels he has to defend himself. That said, he’s a big boy and can look after himself quite well.

I also think that as a pool community we are very fortunate to have AZ Billiards to provide the many real pool aficionados with a forum for comment. The many, many positive contributors by far outweigh the few that do not contribute as much as they could if they stopped being contrary for the sake of being contrary and stated their positions with some reasoned argument.

He's a waste of time.

As for deleting posts.. sometimes they get so off-track and carried away that they just need to be trashed. It'd be very difficult to dissect entire trainwrecks just to find a few salvageable parts.

Oh its you again !..I cannot find it in myself, to get upset, or waste words with someone like you..You have firmly established yourself, (to all)..as having the intellect of a 'gnat' !

The best part about this post is I cannot even bring myself to read most of his posts. They're obnoxiously long and formatted like a book report of a 3rd grader on acid. My eyes bleed seeing a lot of this posts. What I have read though, would never be described as "wit".

I don't post much for my own reasons. I just dont get people. What would be interesting is to see every thread CJ supposedly hijacks. Take out all of CJ's post and read the thread. Now take out all the CJ's haters and read the thread. Now put CJ's posts back but leave out the haters. What thread do you think would be the most interesting and informative? Unless you like drama then we can take all the CJ hater posts and lump them together for everyone to read.

Yet, he is in the Hall of Fame. Not to shabby for a non-playing no name. That's an accomplishment your hero will never have.

Jerry, well said, and I concur with the bulk of your message...But I must ask, did you somehow miss post # 131 ???
..It is a 2 page, rambling, inane response, to a 2 line post, written by one of the most respected guys in the industry,
(Mark Griffin) who only chastised CJ, for being so obnoxious, and argumentative ! :sorry:

SJD

PS..Oh, Mark may have called him a few "expletives deleted" ! (CJ can make any sane person lose their cool)

How much were those rose-colored glasses you must be wearing?? Absolutely amazing that you don't think he hijacks threads, and his non-fan base does. Just amazing!

Thanks Whiffer, I appreciate it.

If I say something stupid, as in Cleary's Thread, or where ever, then it's my fault for putting myself in that position, so I own it.

But like you said, I am a big boy and can take my lumps with the rest of them.

I think that my skin is thick enuff in life or internet to do that.

How's the weather in your end of the World?

Ah, I re read that. You meant with Cobra Glen. That don't mean anything. There are a lot of people on this forum, even the ones that don't post much, that I have a higher respect for their opinions. Glen's opinions on AZ or of myself are pretty close to the bottom of the list.

a game that gave me a lifetime of adventures, teaching me about life

As far as DVD sales go, I sell very few myself, the ones I do sell I usually autograph. My business strategy is simple, always give more in value than I receive in compensation. Judging by my responses I've held up my end of this bargain.

Accu-stats video productions wholesales my products, through a good friend of mine, Dave Thomson, of 'Medium Pool' - as of three months ago they had sold more of my DVDs in 2014 than all other instructional videos put together.

Pat Fleming (owner of Accu-stats) and I go way back, when I started out on the pro circuit Pat was the only one doing pool video productions. Pat actually filmed the first Pro Event I played in Reno when I beat Nick Varner, then Steve Mizerak (this match was the best selling video of that year), with commentary by Billy Incardona and Buddy Hall.

Why are the sales so high with Accu-stats? The answer is they're not, the pool market is at an all time low, and the money for products are few and far between.

I've been a martial arts teacher, billiard room owner, and pool instuctor for 23 years, this is my "bread and butter," professional pool is something else, it's my passion. If I never sold another DVD I would still be posting regularly, I made a three year commitment to azbilliards and I will live up to that goal.

My other goals are to help pool enthusiasts enjoy the game more, and to promote it to the general public in a format that will be entertaining and lead to a weekly TV Show.

I'm getting advanced in age and won't be around forever - when I'm on my death bed It's important to look back and know I dedicated myself to something worthwhile - for a game that gave me a lifetime of adventures, teaching me about life through experiences I could have received no other way. Cleary,

You contributed a lot before you ever put an ad in your signature as did some of the others that advertise here. While I think all the big sig's should be outlawed members that take up advertising are I think generally viewed differently than people who are here primarily to advertise. Pretty sure that when CJ isn't promoting something we won't be seeing much of him.

I don't have a thing against CJ as a person. As a player I think he could be one of the most valuable contributers here. As a hustler on a pool forum he has a lot to learn and his relentless advertising is annoying. His original claim why touch of inside was better than center ball was so silly that I have to admit that I never looked at TOI seriously. Nothing special about that, I ignore most miracle techniques that are going to make me a better player. Those I have tried haven't impressed.

I read post like yours, and I just sit here wondering what forum you are talking about. Because it sure isn't this one! Wit and kindness?? Do you even read his posts?? He's not witty at all, and anything but kind. Sometimes it really bothers and amazes me that some people are so messed up in their thinking that they actually think some things are good that bother the majority of people.

As far as Barton, you think he cracked. All he did is respond in actual words, not just pictures that he found on the net somewhere. CJ isn't capable of the word fest that Barton used to put up. Bartons posts at least made sense.

Thread is about deleting threads. No hijack here, just a little commercial advocating the greatness of his highness. Carry on folks.

I found out through trial and error that we can't "control" feelings and emotions

As you know real life and internet life are vastly different. While I'm posting on AZ, I'm also answering hundreds of PM and email questions, posting on Face-book and attending to my Google and YouTube obligations. I totally focus on pool during these times, when I'm finished I go to my real life.

In person I don't talk about pool unless someone asks a direct question. I do help people with their games 3-5 times a week without any charges. I worked with two players last night, and a couple more on Friday and Saturday.

Some of them read these posts, they just refrain from commenting. They don't want to face the ridicule-rs saying rude things about favoring me, and I don't blame them.

To become the best money player in the world for a time took total dedication. There was so much stress and pressure that I had to eliminate feelings and emotions. I found out through trial and error that we can't "control" feelings and emotions, what we can do is "trump" them with attitude. When a man as a good attitude the feelings and emotions fall instantly in line. 'The Game is my Teacher'

No. FL is too outspoken and Timothy is a quiet poster.

I may be wrong but I can usually pick out either Pocket Point or the member from Toronto, just by the way they word their posts to me.

The member from Toronto used to give me Winkey Smileys frequently, to let me know it was him. I don't know if he was Pocket or not.

I thought Pocket was a funny Troll. Do you remember when he started a Thread and asked if we thought that putting cheese burger grease on the pocket linings would help the balls slide in better.

The guy from Toronto started to grow on me after a while and we got along in our own twisted way.

He used to give me funny digs on purpose, but always with a Winkey at the end.

He had a fishing boat and gave me some good tips so he couldn't have been all that bad.

also true with the Daily Show - Fox News fanatics hate Jon Daily

LoL -That's a great point, and also true with the Daily Show. Fox News fanatics hate Jon Daily, and they probably make up half of his viewing audience.
