Dennis Orcollo contract

I have two things to say basically : 1st) I truly hope neither DO nor any other pool player has been or will be screwed by ANY CONTRACT they have or have not signed, 2nd) I AM SO SICK OF THESE ILLEGALS etc. etc. etc.

Your rant is off-base and has nothing to do with anything.

Even if you know nothing about the situation, you know Dennis isn't playing dumb here.
How do you know that?

Because nobody on earth would sign that contract if they understood it.

I am no lawyer but the date by Dennis signature says October 5, 201

All bets are off.

I could of put a contract in front of him bonding his family into slavery in Norway and told him it was so he could get 20% of sales from a Free Dennis shirt and he would of done it.

Now, I don't like Dennis very much, but that is a great idea for a T-Shirt.

I do hope this contract holds up in court.
As far as the contract itself goes it's valid, safe the salvatorian clause (which you in USA might not need, but we do). Furthermore there is the freedom to contract, as we call it.

I does list each sides responsibilities, however vague, but contracts usually cannot be challenged because of the content but due to formal problems (against public policy counts as a formal problem).

If Orcullo is dumb enough to sign a contract he cannot understand it's his fault.
A lawyer will argue that Orcullo does a lot of international playing (and quite a lot in the USA) and should therefore be familiar enough with English.

As far as Orcullo goes - what goes around comes around.
Cheers.

Since he does not read English it would have to be reviewed by legal counsel that speaks his language to be valid.

French be like...

this whole thing just sounded a little off from the get go. I'm glad they are deciding to go separate ways in this whole thing.

your attitude sir, is one of the problems with this world...

People should NOT be taken advantage of because of a piece of paper. Their contract was primarily verbal and this bullshit of a a written contract is exactly that... BULLSHIT...

It was designed to fraudulently STEAL from DO, PERIOD...

The only way that this contract should be upheld would be if THIS was what both parties ACTUALLY agreed to. The fact that this is on paper and the other was just spoken makes NO difference...

So basically what you're saying is, that if someone CAN take advantage of someone, and that someone is trusting enough to be taken advantage of, then said person should be screwed...

I'm assuming a mod edited the other part out, because I sure as hell didn't...I won't add it back in...but those who already read it, know it's the truth...

This is the deal with Dennis. He did not honor this contract so how do I trust was I suppose to trust him in Beloit if he didn't follow through at DCC. Would you put money up behind someone knowing you will never see a dime.

This looks like the agreement Colonel Parker had with Elvis. Of course they both got rich, VERY rich! I cannot believe Dennis actually signed this. There is no question he did not understand what he was signing and was coerced to sign it. Dennis was entitled to representation and if French were acting in good faith he would have made sure Dennis had counsel.

I won't tell you what I would like to do after reading this piece of garbage designed to bilk a good friend of mine. If French does attempt to take Dennis to court I will make sure he has good legal assistance. It may not end well for French, as fraud and manipulation are not held in high regard in the legal system.

Elvis to this day makes more money every year than any other dead person...

I think last I heard, he still makes 50 million+ a year...lol

Maybe I've missed something in these threads about French, but I don't recall ever reading "who he is, what he does, and where he derives his income from".

If anyone knows, please explain to the rest of us. If you've already done so, sorry for asking for repetitions.

Aloha.

do people care that French Orcullo and Shane were setting everyone up and there was no money in the middle just them using that to sell the match and make a score rom the door and PPV

very shady business to me and I will be staying well clear of them in future.

Because he is a pool player... they are notorious for making bad decisions with money LOL.

Posting the contract here does not make John look good or right in this situation... just more scummy.

Pool players are notorious for making bad decisions....period!

Don't be an idiot. Shane and Dennis were not setting anyone up. I can not speak for Dennis' side but I do know Shane's side had the money and we're ready to go.

I don't think we should judge Dennis too harshly in this situation.

I manage a coffee shop, and I have seen MANY people sign contracts that they never read. I once watched a realtor tell a couple 'I haven't filled this sheet out yet, just sign it' - and they DID. I was told by the closer at the title company when I bought my house that in 30 years of doing that job, I was only the second person to request a copy of the paperwork ahead of time to read.

To me, this is no different from the millions of people that signed ARMs and balloon payment mortgages at the height of the housing bubble - they were told it was a good idea, they saw easy money in it, and so they did it.

What a goat rope....

Only in pool would you have a goat rope like this. What is $100,000.00 in the world of sports? Nothing when you look at other sports where millions are discussed and contracts are constantly renegotiated.

Yet in pool if a $100,000.00 match is mentioned fans get all excited and bummed when it does not happen. From the posts lately it sounds like most can't afford there own housing and are always looking for a room to crash in. I am so glad I was never blessed with the skill or desire to be a pro pool player.

As far as Dennis and the French contract goes, ya got me. I know neither man and can't speak to their mental faculties and business sense. But in this day and age who the heck signs a contract with out reading it and understanding it or having an attorney look it over ?

That being said I do hope if Dennis got screwed due to his own ignorance he can get legal help and learn from his mistake. If this French guy is not an honest person he will be a 'FLASH IN THE PAN" in the pool promoting world.

I spent a lot of time in the Philippine's during the Viet Nam era and like the Pinoy people. Most of the ones I met could understand English very well and count money faster then me.

There are a few problems with the paperwork.
First, there is no specific "consideration" by JF enumerated in order to yield any percentage of earned monies. There is no "relationship" here
Second- it's not going to be difficult for DO to prove he lacks the necessary language proficiency required to enter into a legal contract.
Finally and most importantly, IMO, this contract is so ****ed, that DO should be asserting that the JF's contractual intentions were "malicious in nature".

Now for me personally, JF gets the Monopoly pass, straight into the Scumbag Billiards Hall of Fame, alongside Stroud, Trudeau, and Mackey. I'm finished

There should definitely be an AzB "Hall of shame". It would probably be so huge that it would eventually require it's own webpage.
