i have a reservation to the excetive west hotel from the 3rd to the 12th of january. i reserved this about 4 months ago now my financial situation doesnt allow me to keep it. my offer is #1. pay for the room and im staying as a roommate or #2. buy it from me. i will be entertaining offers until january 1 and then pick the best offer or if none i like then ill just cancel the reservation. thought i throw this out there instead of just canceling the room alltogether like the one dude on the derby forum and said good luck on the waiting list! grab it if u can. im actually trying to make someones
dream come true! getting a room at the derby! for my az billiards friends!

Wow oh WOW! What a deal!!!! 1/2 a room at full price!! This one won't last long at that price, folks! Get on board while you can.

[/sarcasm] For the record... I would never do this to my AZBilliards brethren. If I could not afford the room, I would voluntarily hand it over a known poster on the forums, and wouldn't charge them one red cent.

But, I guess others don't have the generous streak I do....:D

Can't say I am surprised... Just another pool player trying to get something for nothing. :(

I don't really see how you are doing anything to help your AZ brethren.

They pay for the room and you stay in it? Wow what a bargain. Or you will entertain offers and pick one that you like?

I will jump in on this offer, but only if you promise to snore loudly, come in and out all hours of the day, keep the room a mess, and let me pay for all of your meals.
 
I agree with the other posters. Bragging a bit here, but I once talked a guy into sharing costs with me to a car club event...I'd reserved a room, paid my registration to the event. Then I had to cancel. I called the resort and the event organizers. I paid the full tab, registration and room, for my friend to attend.

I just didn't want to be known as a flake...
 
I'm hoping he just wrote that badly, and meant that he'd share the room for half the cost...

This may be your best post ever Russ. lol What is this guy thinking he is helping us out? I have a room for 7 days down there i will sell it for double the price but i will stay in the room and also charge up room service bills and steal towels also. All this to the highest bidder ( hey just trying to make someones dream come true) <---------------helping azbretheren since 2000
 
BTW forgot to add to the original post.

Hope you have to eat the cost of the room and that the hotel won't let you out of the obligation.

Regardless of the confusion about the actual cost to obtain the room,who would want to wait the day before you have to leave to know if you had a room? I think that waiting until the 1st. will kill any chance you had of helping your fellow AZ'ers.
 
Man cut the guy some slack. What difference is there between selling his room to the highest bidder and selling a collectable cue on ebay to the highest bidder? I say none. If the rooms are all sold out (I assume they are, but am not certain), then this WOULD be a good deal for someone who really wanted to go.

I'm thinking that if JOHN's name was JOANNE, this thread would have a completely different flavor. :D

The difference is...a collectable cue cost the seller SOMEthing, either time or $$. This room hasn't cost him one dime yet. He can cancel up to I believe 48 hours prior to his reservation, and it won't cost him anything.

And it's just the principle of the thing. The DCC is supposed to be about camraderie, spending time with other pool nuts, etc.. If you want to fleece other pool players, then show up and use your various skills to do so. Don't try to make money without even showing up.

And let's REALLY think about the proposition again. His "financial situation" does not allow him to pay for the room any more, but he can still afford to come for the 9 days if someone pays for his room. That means he can afford to be out of work for that time period, and can afford to get food for that time period.

Sounds fishy to me.

Executive Inn next door has rooms currently available for $71/night. I just got mine. It's about 100 yds further away than just going upstairs, but I don't intend to spend much time there anyway.

yeah but i got something that potentially somebody wants the derby is
getting bigger every year and more and more people! with just way not enough rooms for the people. the rooms should be priceless just like the guys
hang on to a table and somebody gives them a hundred dollar bill so they can gamble. or like the guy said selling a cue to the highest bidder. samething here. point is ive got something very desirable and giving somebody the chance if they want it and if they dont fine. for all you haters out there
see you at the hotel sink taking a bath in the sink! and sleeping in the chair
couldnt afford it anyways! because one year i stayed in a room and its nice
being right there!

yeah sorry i realy forgot most of you guys are really the guys i see sleeping in chairs smelling the place up and sink washing good luck and happy memories of the derby living like that. if you see me there ill give you a aspirin i promise!
