I just purchased one of these. Is there a need to put any type cleaner on the balls first? Their web page says just plug it in and walk away, no mention of how long to set the time. Whats the best way of using these? thanks
That depends on how dirty they are, if they are clean and you use your polisher on a consistant basis 10-15 minutes should be plenty.thehammer37 said:thanks for the replys, how long do you set the timer for?

I use the Maguires cleaner wax, it comes in a red can of paste wax. It won't cause the balls to skid, and they shin real good. Only use it on one side of the ball polisher, for cleaning, then use the other side for shining. Place 8 balls in the cleaning side, use a sponge to apply the cleaner wax while the balls are spinning, only takes a little, then turn it off, insert the sprocket to separate the balls, turn it back on. You'll see the balls speed up when the cleaner wax has been cleaned off the balls. At that time, shut it off, move the 8 balls to the shining side, load 8 more to be cleaned and repeat the process. With the cleaner wax, it only takes about 2-3 minutes to clean the balls. You can pick up the cleaner wax at any auto supply store.thehammer37 said:I just purchased one of these. The home version is not out yet, I'll be working on that while I'm back east at DiamondTXsouthpaw said:is this the pro version or the home version. I didnt think the home version was out yet
That's why at the least, I mentioned the Maguires cleaner wax, it has no carnuba wax in the cleanerMark Griffin said:SHAME on WilleBetMore - NEVER NEVER NEVER use windex on balls. It is suprising how often that is tried. It strips off everything from the ball and makes it "squeaky clean" which causes clinging and skidding. The balls want to drag and grab.
Some subscribe to the "wax" theory. I use the polish theory. Wax has carnuba and polish usually doesn't. I actually prefer Dri-wash (One of the original waterless polishers) - because it does NOT build up on the balls or the ball plisher.
If using wax, please use very little. And only once in awhile - not on every cleaning. There is a diference for a home owner and a commercial room.
A pool room should only have to run for 1 minute or so - usually 2-3 times a week. At our tournaments, we ran ron about 1 minute-dri-wash every third set or so. This is for up to 240 tables.
This machine is the NUTS.

The Bludworth ball cleaner is a better deal and it does a great job.thehammer37 said:about 700.00 plus shipping
If that be the case, I wouldn't have sold about 100 of the double platter ball polishers to room owners that already had the Bludworth ball polishersRich R. said:The Bludworth ball cleaner is a better deal and it does a great job.
