Diamond Bigfoot Ten Ball Challenge

I'll 2nd the vote for Lee!!

Yes, Lee wants in but he's still at the back of the bus. Maybe next year he will have a better chance. Lee already has a nice money game or two lined up. I want to see how he does in those.

This may be what I am most excited about for the Derby this year. Jay, are the rules going to be the same as in past Bigfoot Challenges i.e. 10 ball with 9 ball rules?

Yes, except for the break shot. It's a little different game on the big box. A lot more play to each rack!

I hope you are at least going to do what you did in Tunica this year -- spot any 10-ball made on the break in either foot-rail pocket. Amazingly, there were 10 of those in the last 2 matches of that event!

Here's a few, Oscar Dominguez (already invited), Thorsten (invited), Phil Burford, Justin Bergman and Brandon Shuff, in no particular order. There are also players who have turned down invitations so their name does not appear here. I prefer not to go into the reasons why they chose not to play.

What about mike dechaine?

He's not in right now. I would call him an alternate as well.

Just curious how is the field chosen? I would think that mike would be chosen over a few players on that list. Not disrespecting any of them just curios how field is chosen

This is INVITATIONAL, players are CHOSEN by Greg Sullivan and myself. There is no specific criteria, other than we have to like your game and want you in the field. If we can put together an interesting mix of players, people will enjoy this event and support it. If we fail to do that, then people will stop supporting it. So far, so good. But thanks for asking.

I don't want to but in! Jay will answer I am certain. But, first priority went to those that played in southern classic big foot! Then Jay looked at rankings to give the fans the best field possible. He also took into account any past problems with behavior and attitude to get a field deserving and appreciative!

Hope this answers your question!

Yeah, I went out on a limb with Stricknine, but my God, everybody still wants to see him play. He does show flashes of his old brilliance from time to time, and all of us would like to see vintage Earl one more time. I'm not sure that's possible anymore but we'll give him another chance to show his stuff next month. He professes to love the big box, so all I can say is "Go for it Earl!"

so Earl is in for bigfoot 10 ball?

Does anybody know if Earl plans on making it out to the west coast for the Swanee? For whatever reason it seems that he rarely comes to the LA area. Vegas, yes, but not LA.

As of now i won't be going derby Jay. Just not worth the money to only play in the 9 ball....

No archer didn't he. Finish second twice.

He has been invited but may not be able to come. He is very busy with his business now. Like I said before, there are several players who are unable to attend for different reasons.

Okay we have two more players, Corey Deuel and Karl Boyes. We are getting filled up now. Not many spots left.

So here's how it looks now:

SHANE, DENNIS O., FRANCISCO, NIELS, DARREN, EARL, JAYSON, CARLO, CHRIS BARTRAM, JOHN MORRA, ROB SAEZ, OSCAR D., COREY, MIKA, RALF and LEE VANN make up this year's field. Try to pick a winner out of this field. Good luck!

I'm very happy with the field we are putting together this year. A lot of strength and depth. And everyone belongs in an elite field like this! I try to make it a mix of proven tournament players and some of the best road men.
