Hello everyone!

I'm now living in Greenville, SC and will be looking for suitable locations to open a bigger and better RackTime in the very near future.

This room will have brand new tables, I'm leaning toward either Brunswick Gold Crowns or Diamond Smart Tables but I will try to keep an open mind.

You can help me decide by voting in the poll!!

i voted cg but that's only because i've only played on 1 diamond table and it was way too tight for me. i'm sure either would be a good choice though.
 
Seems there are lots of GC options that could save considerable $...but we all know $ is no object for us on AZB:eek:

You also could have a mix. Consider your clientele, do they care? Its not a simple this or that. The hard wood look, or the commercial look. The early GC's with ball boxes and ball counters and brown tops or is that even a concern. Are you going to have a corner snooker table for the oldsters? Good luck.
 
I think I'll probably stick with one brand so players will be playing on the same type of table during tournaments. If there's enough room, a snooker table would be cool.

Did Brunswick start making a coin operated Gold Crown? I would think your thread would have been Gold Crown vs Diamond Pro/Diamond ProAm other. Then, if you were planing on having coin ops in your room, it would be more like...Valley vs Diamond Smart table? Apples to Apples, Oranges to Oranges.

I grew up playing on gold crowns so i have i soft spot for them. However, i now own a diamond 9ft at home. The difference is huge. The diamonds are just better tables. The GC's also tend to be shorter as well which can be a little annoying. Really can't beat a room full of brand new diamond tables.

I knew exactly what he was talking about and i have a pro am so maybe we azers are just smarter than you think
 
I had narrowed "my" choices to those 2 tables for a number of reasons. The Diamond smart table would be my choice in the Diamond linup because of avalability (examp: tournament tables) and the coin feature. There was no Brunswick offering that had a coin feature.

Well then in that case...Diamond tables, and in case if anyone DIDN'T know....lol, you can get these tables with the non-pro pocket cuts as well.

Well,I was bred on Gold Crowns and haven't played a whole lot on D's.So I vote for the GC's and remember to put a heated Kim Steele 3 cushion table in there as well.......just in case I happen to roam through town:)

I know the coin feature of the smart tables very well, as well as the 9ft Smart tables ability to rent by the half hour or by the game...players choice if both coin chutes are installed. This system insures no loss of revenue by theft of rental time. I should know...I designed it.

I've only played on one diamond and it had tighter pockets than the gold crowns I've played on. I prefer the diamond but IMO most people who go to a pool room prefer the gold crowns because of the loose pockets.
