i greatly respect RKC. not only because he made my table great but more... he is an inspirational person. i really mean that. i can not say that about many folks i know. RKC has an uncompromising work ethic. RKC is a genius. it was a great pleasure to watch him work.

I think my favorite part of "The Hustler" is when 'fast Eddie' talks about how sweet it is when something is done right..... (to paraphrase) there is nothing like the feeling... doesn't matter what it is, laying bricks, or playing pool.. when it's right and you know it... THAT's the sweetest feeling. Kudos to those who do their work the way a client wants it done, the way everyone wants it done and are a value to everyone they deal with!! Their self satisfaction with doing the job right must be a great reward and any accolades are well deserved!! Too bad 95% of the world never gets to this level to see how satisfying it can be to all parties involved.

you should set up a GC 4 that you diamondized in a pool room full of gc 4's and see how often that table gets requested! I'd bet you couldn't get on that table very easy! Keep it up Glen ! You are making a differece one table at a time.:smile:

Man that was pretty fun to look at and see the different stages of redoing a cushion on a pool table. I think you did a great job and if i ever need work done i know who im going to go to

Going to sleep now, have 600 miles to drive tomorrow on the way back to the Diamond factory, then returning to the NJ, MD, NH, NY, CT and NC area on thursday. I'll check in tomorrow morning.

This is one of the GC3's I brought back to Diamond from a retirement center in Messa, AZ. As you can see from the start of these pictures, who ever worked on these rails changing the cushions was a joke for a mechanic.

You can see in the last picture the damage done taking the old cushions off, and how they tried to FIX the broken off wood that came off with the old cushions.

I just read what you posted then deleted. Let me ask you something, if the table manufactures, cloth manufactures, slate manufactures....all combined don't teach people how to work on the equipment they sell to the public so it can be serviced at the highest levels so that the customers who purchase this kind of equipment are happy with it for years to come...then who do you suppose should be teaching the mechanics you'd pay to come and work on YOUR pool table to give you what you paid for?

Everyone to some extent learns from others...so who is it that table mechanics are suppose to learn from...if the industry itself is not doing the teaching?

Auto mechanics have to go to school to learn how to work on cars correctly, plumbers have to be certified, so do electricians, lawyers hove to go to school to become licenced.....so who teaches the table mechanics how to work on pool tables correctly?
