We should probably reserve judgement until we get more of the facts.
I am shocked by the sentiment that the upa handled this wrong. I know a lot of people like Morris and dislike the upa, but the disqualification seems obvious here. There is no place for this type of behavior in professional sports. I think the above statement about sports is incorrect. Soccer has red cards, basebll umps throw players out of games routinely, and football players are removed from games for fighting. To throw rodney out of this tournament for threatning behavior and a significant lack of professionalism is the obvious course of action. What should be debated is whether or not he will receive a suspension from any further events. That would follow the norm in sports for this type of behavior. Whether you like the upa or not, it appears they are handling this correctly so far, at least according to the facts as they have been presented.
Sounds like he had a McEnroe moment.
Probably a lot of aggression Morris picked up in jail.
There were only 9 spectators for the winners bracket final??!!!!!! Unbelievable!
I think one of those spectators was JCIN, before they bounced him.
We should probably reserve judgement until we get more of the facts.
I was watching Stevie More V gomez match at the other end of the arena and I do not know the answer to your question.
Today at 1pm is the finals and I will be there to watch that final.during that time I may be able to gather some info.![]()

That was a pretty tasteless, low blow for no reason that happens to also be incorrect. That part of his past was many, many yrs ago. Probably safe to say that we would've noticed "aggression problems" before now, don't you think?
I've known Rodney for many yrs, and like the rest of us, he's not a saint. He is a pretty easy going guy that's quick with a smile and has always been polite when approached by fans and accommodating when pics & autographs are requested.
.
Tasteless......NO
Low blow......POSSIBLY
"and like the rest of us, he's not a saint"......Please, don't make that comparison. How many people do you know did what he did. And if it's more than one, you're hanging out with the wrong crowd.

I will not get into a self righteous colloquium with you. We've both stated our opinions on the matter and neither one of us is going to change the others' view. I've no desire to go down a road that only leads to a flame war that in the end will serve no purpose. Have a good day.
The following apology was sent to us by Rodney today....
I would like to extend my most sincerest apology to the UPA, ACS, staff at the World Summit of Pool, my friends and family, my sponsor Kamuitips.com, fans, and my fellow pool players.
This past Friday I was playing a match and I let my emotions get the better of me and I walked out in the middle of the match. I disrespected myself and this wonderful game. There's no excuse for the behavior that I exhibited and I am 100% in the wrong for walking out. I realize that I'm only human and make mistakes, but there still has to be a penalty. My being forfeited in my next match is fair to me, as I feel that's what should happen when you act the way I did. Once again I would like to say I'm sorry to everyone that was affected by my actions this past weekend.
