Did Earl resign vs Roberts?

Dennis checks other people's racks. So I'm not sure why he would get mad at someone checking his.

Maybe Earl wasn't feeling good, Like Appleton?

And maybe he realized he was being earl and decided to just leave and not make a scene. He could have waited for Roberts to come back and totally blown up and ruined Roberts tournament also.

This is pool in disarray on display here. This happens because it's allowed to happen. No players association no governing body no disciplinary action no referees essentially out of control.
In a tourney of this profile there should be all these things in place and players should not be racking balls or checking racks or talking or throwing tantrums or they would be fined and or suspended.
Pool is a mess.

Exactly!..How many times does it have to be said?..Until we have a bonified players association, like every other sport in the world has, nothing will ever change! :(

Same old earl bs I've come to know. As a 25 year old I am aware of earls accomplishments, but without seeing anything but a real bad attitude and even worse sportsman I can't say I look up to him. I remember the guy that basically took me u see his wing was playing in the pro event at the expo and I asked who his favorite player was and he said earl and he hopes he draws him cuz his dream would be to play him in a tournament and all I could think of was that he would be bitcxing n complaining the entire match especially if he didn't win, but I didn't shatter his dream saying any of that and tried to get a better understanding of earl but still to this day all I know of earl is raking balls after a miss, intentional sharking, constant complaining and bad etiquette, and basically a complete lack of class.

Sorry to the guys that grew up loving earl but if u were 25 n only knew this earl u would understand why so many people say he's bad for the game

I don't think age has much to do with the opinion. I'm not too much older than you. I don't agree with Earl all the time, but I think his antics are great for the game. Pure entertainment.

What entertainment do you get from watching a match NOT being played to completion?

That's not entirely true. He is still capable of outstanding play and running racks beautifully- that's mainly why I still enjoy watching him play

He just took 2nd in the world 14.1 championship. Your right he can still play better then all these nits on here saying he can't lol

very true sir well said, fact of matter earl is his worst enemy. If he can just over come it and move on.

Neil's found that the wing ball was not frozen and pointed it out to Dennis and thats when he lost it. This was like the second or third rack in the match.

Speaking of antics, Dennis Orcullo or how ever it's spelt just blew a head gasket when Neil's F. Checked Dennis's rack got upset made a scene and thru his cue at the rack then started flinging balls around the table stopping play around the other tables near him.

A little background. Before the tournament started, Jason Shaw gave a little demo on racking for those who happened to be around his table. "If I rack tight like this with all the balls touching, this happens..." and the wing ball hits short on the long rail or goes slowly towards the corner pocket and gets kissed out. "And if I rack like this, with this gap here -- just a tiny little space...." the wing ball goes screaming into the corner pocket.

It turns out that the tiny little space is not that hard to make.

It also turns out that it's not that hard to see from the stands when that tiny little space is there since the wing ball goes screaming into the corner pocket.

Maybe Paul Schofield and Joe Tucker are right.

I also saw Souquet point out to his opponent that the opponent had made one of the cheat racks. The opponent stopped doing it.

back to the Earl debacle.

I really think there should be some sort of sanction for a player to unscrew mid match like it is said he did. There needs to be a real discouragement for such crappy behavior.

And, as usual, my first though goes to all the bettors who took him in this match.

I think if I ever take him or a couple others who I wont mention by name right now, I'll add the stipulation that they have to show up and play the full match or bet's off.

best,
brian kc
