I was mostly in the action rooms and watching the tourney from the mezzanine. But, I was only at Derby for four days.

It felt to me like Dippy was making a very concerted effort to win the award this year. I can't believe that so many top players were lined up to give out those ridiculous spots... The TAR stream was like a 1P marathon, and even though I really like 1P, I was tired of seeing it by the end. I hope they go back to covering the action room next year, or at least try to arrange some good match-ups ahead of time.

Courious to know, did Dippy take down Cory Deuel for a 100K for a crazy spot in 1-hole like 18 to 4?

I am originally from Dothan. Are you from that area?
Please elaborate on the "action story" you was referring to.
Thanks

No,I'm not from Dothan.
But I like the place..big enough to have every thing you need...
..small enough to be pleasant.

...and I'll do the story...or KC will give me a little steam

Dothan is a nice town, and your description of it was well said.

I look forward to the "story"!

Congrats to Dippy for winning the Action Award! Well played sir!

This plays out in rooms in another way. I dont know how many times I have had me 4 or 5 " customers " losing small amounts of money consistenly.. Then these "players" get jealous and start knocking, and offering them the 6 out to see if they can outrun it or to show off or whatever, and so then the customer has to have the spot from me, which I cannot do, and then its all over, whereas before I was giving them the call 7 or 8 depending on who it was and everybody was happy. You get the point. They just had to play god and had to play and they screw everybody up and then they go BROKE by the way, cause the customer wanted another ball and they couldn't wait a half hour--you get the point. Who can blame dippy. I would have been mad at him if he HADN'T taken their money...

As far as the TAR. Its a fine thing. I think that they should charge a flat fee and say we will give you as much as we can for the nine days and thats that. If you don't want to kick in and take the package deal, you get nothing free anymore but maybe one day. They might be surprised to see how many folks take it. I always have 100 available for DCC streams, cause I dont care enough about pool anymore to go to the event, and thats less than gas money. I might start at 50 for the whole event. It could grow up into the thousands of customers in a couple of years. I bought the Accu-stat deal and liked it, but meanwhile spent more time on TAR and the chat was worth 20 dollars. Just makes it more like you are on the scene taking part.....

And Dippy in the spotlight again.

Yes, this week on Poker After Dark. finally a "new" segment.
If you see this Dippy can you advise if this was taped before DCC or after. Just curious. You took it in the shorts pretty quick when you let Eli bluff you out of a big pot. Then a pretty tricky side bet that wasn't. Have you reviewed that bluff yet?

I'm sitting here thinking.....at WORST....Dippy breaks even at the Derby getting all those big spots, and letting the world beaters think they have a shot at big money, but in reality.....no one lost anything BIG from what I have heard and seen. So, in reality, you can go to the DCC as an unknown.....flash some big money....that in reality is not in action, and fade some killers giving you spots that are ALMOST impossible to fade.

You play for 2 weeks and get the pool world loving what you are doing, then you are set up forever at the DCC. At first they all thought Dippy was a wacko, then they liked him cause' he was in big action, then they picked him for the Louie....now he is set for the duration of the DCC........

I dunno....maybe it was the best show ever? :)

G.

ps, for what it is worth....the guy with king kong money, has a free ride forever at the DCC....I just wish a workin dude like Jay Helfert could have got it...just seems more in line with the thinking of the Louie.
