Sad to say, he may have had something to offer. But like someone else said, he went about it in entirely the wrong way.

You know he may be a goofball ground hog and troll but I do have to give him this... He is QUITE the snazzy dresser! He must be a big fan of Miami Vice.

But, Not As Much Fun As 'Snowball Fight With Santa'... imo

It's more like "Whack-A-Mole."

Wow! That's my old stomping ground when I visit Miami!! My parent lives a few blocks away. :) Southridge rat huh?? Gooooo Panthers!!

Course, I was born in 1981, so I doubt I'd have run into you back then. Do you still go there?

Sadly, Peg's Pocket is no longer a player's room. Joe that works there plays great but they no longer have tournaments and the Miami locals that play serious pool all go to Sharpshooters and Hollywood Billiards instead.

Hey just curious... what is it with the groundhog video-- the turn-around and 'zoom-in'??

Every time I see it, I find myself oddly staring at it and laughing--- and I don't even know why.

your photoshop skills are amazing. Did you go to the Accustats Art School?

Your focus on design and production values is overrated. Its the content and value that this content provides that is really important to the majority of the online community. Google's spartan design is a good example. Another example is your avatar. Its nicely shot, the focus and framing is well done, but the message communicated is that you can't play a lick and could use some real help in your fundamentals.

Spider check out this LINK. It will change your life.

And this ONE for good measure.

If I was looking for quality then I would have taken a little more time. Look beyond the crude and hastily chopped picture and figure out the underlying meanings of my art. I think the colorful fruit and viking hat contrasting the black and white background stresses the fact that in this picture you are less significant than the fruit or said hat. This conveys similar ideals to real life in that you think you are important because you might have been a footnote on late night programming but in reality you are really quite insignificant.

Oh my God I got Rick-rolled again. That's awesome. You got me. I always pictured a "DAH DAH DAAAAAAAAAH" musical score in the background of your groundhog video-- and behold, it was there on Youtube.

Design and production value is what wins awards. What draws people to things. You would be suprised how much it really does for things. That is why companies like Coca-cola for example dumps so much money into making amzing thing. They dont need to advertise. We all know who they are. But they still make these things because of what it does to the veiwer.

Look, I dont need to sit here and try to defend my opinion to you. You obviously have no idea what your talking about. I also do not need to defend my pool playing. For playing less than two years, I would say Im pretty damn good. But whatever. Im not going to cry myself to sleep. you guys have fun sucking up to Grady, Ive got work to do.

Design and production values add to the value of content but it is the actual content that is the core of what consumers want. Its the same reason why you can have a restaurant that has the worst service, crappiest location and yet there will be a line out the door if the food is outstanding. Especially in the online world, it has been shown time and time again that consumers will put up with lousy design, MS-Paint production, intrusive pop up consoles and on and on IF at the end of the day the content is of value to them. Taken back to this AZB thread, accu-stats is providing content that the pool community highly values, and if we can get a chance to see Efren v Grady, matched up playing 1P for $$$$, then we dont care if its one camera with no commentary and a bit fuzzy.

You use terms like "obviously" but in fact the real truth of the value of accu-stats eludes you. You are right about one thing, you do not need to defend your pool playing...your avatar communicates the truth of the matter far more clearly than anything you could ever write.

You obviously don't have much time behind a cue, and even less time interacting with people in this forum. There are some of us here that have been playing longer than you've been breathing air. For me, I have been actively involved in internationally promoting and playing the game much longer than your 25 years on earth - and I'm one of the young people.

You don't start bashing a player like Grady Mathews when you've only been playing for 2 years (and from your own admission) can only run up to the 6 ball playing the 9 ball ghost. I have a big problem with that because when I was MUCH younger than you, Grady was one of the people I looked up to in order to learn how to play the game at the highest level.

You go on to bash Pat Fleming and Accu-Stats. Pat has poured his heart into that project for over 20 + years, and prior to that, Pat was president of the men's professional billiards association, and one of the best straight pool players I have ever seen. He's dedicated his life to the game of pool in more ways than most of us.

You make these statements and received your well deserved public mauling at the hands of those of us that have earned the right to dish it out to you, yet you come back and basically call us ass-kissers and tell us how good you're playing after 2 years, like any of us really give a shitt.

Stick with design and production values if that's what you're the best at. Unless you can offer any way of helping the current production values at Accu-stats by using your knowledge or connections from the inside track, then don't come in here belittling and demoralizing the grass roots efforts that currently exist. btw... as others have mentioned... Accu-Stats does not produce the ESPN shows, nor do they produce the WPBA events you see on all of the time. Thank industry wizards such as yourself for those shitty production standards.

Cleary The Clown.

I was laughing so hard looking at that someone just walked into my office to ask if I was "OK."

Sorry Cleary, that was really funny though. The comedy level of this site has really increased recently--- with the South Park-like cartoons, the groundhog, the rick rolls, the Bel Air stuff - very funny.

Great post Blackjack. If I could give you more rep I would but apparently you've had one or two good posts in the past :D

(John Schmidt, anyone? No one knew who he was before he won his first 14.1 Championship)

Russ

RC,
While I'm an ardent John Schmidt fan; I am unaware of any "14.1 championship" that he has won. You and Wayne both refer to it; what 14.1 championship did he win?

P.S. - he won a little thing called the U.S. Open, but I think they were playing something with less than 15 balls.
