I can hit the fold, call, raise button faster than anyone west of the Mississippi.
I won two tournaments last night - one was $50 bucks for first and the other was a $20 bounty. $10 goes to the pot and $10 on each players head. I knocked out 13 people for $130 and won the tourney for $470.

I've been involved in television most of my adult life, on too many different productions to name, and I have NO problem with anything accustats has put out. Before I quit pool years ago I had a huge stack of old video tapes from them and I learned a ton from them.

They're a great learning tool, and if you're a fan of the game they're very entertaining. Pat Fleming has done a great service to the pool community for recording these matches and without him many of them would have been nothing but blurry memories.

Lord knows I have a lot of blurry memories. :)

Talk about a thread that has gone all over the place. Combining the themes found within this thread, I am wondering who types the most words per minute among Grady Matthews, Charlie Williams and Pat Fleming. If a contest were put together, JAM could officiate, Jay Helfert could commentate and Cleary could manage the production. Might be fun, right?

Keith is a hunt-and-pecker typist. However, in recent times, I think his speed may be up to 40 WPM. He's getting pretty good from the LIVE CHAT windows on Internet poker sites, hanging out with his pool player buddies online!

... My highest score was 95 WPM. On a manual typewriter, that's smoking!

That is an understatement if ever I heard one. I can't remember my rate after all these years, but I'm positive it wasn't even in the same universe as that.

OLD!!! Hmmm, my father was 6 years younger than I am now when he died. No I'm not old, he died young, yeah, that's the ticket.

Back in high school I was the brilliant one who talked his way out of mandatory grade 9 typing .... that turned out to be a bit of an 'oops' :o

Dave, typed this but don't ask how long it took or how many times the backspace key was pressed

You know after all these years to reflect on it, because I'm a computer programmer, I think typing has proven the most valuable thing I took in high school. Who would have thunk it?
Oh yeah and memorizing the little "Toil and trouble, witch's caldron boil and bubble" thing from "Macbeth", that has proven most valuable too.

LOL. I like it, I like it. My money is on Charlie Williams, young nimble fingers.

Well, since I'm officiating the event, I must state right at the outset that the player roster has already been established for this WORLD championship typing contest.

You will be pleased to find out that Miss Hooters USA 2007 and the 2007 Playboy Bunny of the Year will be in attendance, giving it their all. Though they have no existing track record for being a fast typist, they have typed a few letters in high school and will thereby be included in the player roster because they will be eye candy for all those in attendance. Who cares if they can't type a lick?!

Unfortunately, Charlie Williams' name is not on the "invited" list of hand-picked typists for the "world" championship. However, he may enter one of the typing qualifiers at a venue TBA, sine die!

LOL! :D

The "world" championship typing contest is made possible by my production company, Eagle Promotions.

Eagle Promotions currently sponsors the following champion typists: Earl Strickland, Keith McCready, Cliff Joyner, Shane Van Boening, Larry Nevel, Jimmy Mataya, Grady Mathews, Allen Hopkins, Nick Varner, and Liljon. Did you notice that every single one of them are on the player roster for the "world" championship typing contest?

Spectators will be pleased to learn that the upcoming "world" championship typing contest is sponsored by Ricky Byrd from Beautiful Dixie. Though he has no decision on who competes in the "world" championship typing contest, his sponsorship monies are appreciated.

Eagle Promotions reserves the right to pick whoever they damn well feel like to compete in the "world" championship typing contest. Eagle Promotions will continue to provide excellent venues and events, right here in good old USA.

Can I get in, I'm a two finger bandit. I type about 20wpm, i have to check, I might be on the invited list..:p

This could be one of those "classic" threads that people will talk about months from now. First a heated debate started by Grady featuring a new poster in the minority, then several skirmishes among regular posters, a few photoshops thrown in, a derailing for typing school, and then Joe Rogan throws his 2 cents in! Maybe we should ask Joe to request an AZ Billiards fear factor episode. I will be more than happy to go on and compete against Grady, Charlie, Jam, Blackjack, Jay, Cleary, etc..
Make it happen Joe.

Of course, you're in. I just checked with Eagle Promotions' sponsor, Ricky Byrd. This "World" Championship Typing Contest couldn't have happened without the monies donated by Ricky Byrd.

As a sponsor of this "World" Championship Typing Contest, Ricky Byrd is given two Wild Card selections. He can choose anyone in the world to get in this event, and you're one of the two Wild Cards. See you there! :D

Frankie "THE TWO FINGER BANDIT".....;) :D

I'm still trying to figure out the original post. Why isn't accustats doing the tournament?

LOL! :D The tournament has come and gone, at least the one spoken about at the beginning of this long drawn-out thread!

I may contact Pat Fleming to see if he will record the upcoming "World" Championship Typing Contest, however. I will grant him 100-percent royalties from all the commissions forthcoming, too! :p

Actually I was serious. I don't understand why accustats wasn't allowed to do the tournament. If I wade through 400+ posts it is probably in there somewhere, but I'm not that bored.
