Do you have a Pool Nickname

When i was 16-17 I was hanging out in the poolroom when I fractured my hip and was laid up for about 3 months as soon as i could hobble I was down at the poolroom again. One of the locals said to me " Hey you walk like Biz Markie!" ever since then everybody has called me BIZ. I have friends i've known for 10 years who didn't know my real name, as a matter of fact last year I won a quaifier to play in the Glass City Open the room owner didn't know my real name so when he turned in my information he turned it in as BIZ with my last name. To my surprise I show up for my first match Scott Smith comes over to me and says "What kind of name is Biz?!"

Just my funny story about my nick name
BIZ

"Sausage"...from the movie "The Hustler" the line "Rack'em Sausage". Guess what I used to do alot of when I first started playing many years ago?

Maybe you should have nicknamed yourself "Yeast Infection"

Typical

Of course they always call the biggest guy in the room "Tiny", I've also been called eclipse, but neither are what you'd call "pool nicknames" really. My grandfather's friends at the golf course clubhouse called me Kingsbury Fats after I cleaned a few of them out on the 9ft'r they had gathering dust by the domino table.

My Nickname (ohb) Comes From Here!

I got a kick out of this.
Last Sunday, Grady comes into The Break and is talking to some people. After a while - He says - "Where's OHB"?
Now I had been one of the people in the general conversation and he had no idea that it was me. I guess my Avatar Photo that is 28 years old didn't offer him a hint.
Grady was here to play from a conversation that started here on AZ (or OnePocket.org) between him & I.
The best part is when he asked - Where's OHB - No one knew who he was talking about.
No one at The Break has ever heard of OHB - They all just usually call me the "Big Fat Sucker", "Easy Money" OR "Loose As A Goose"!

Good story. How'd the games go ?

I have no nickname, although several guys at the pool hall call me Fish  It's a little funny as I rarely gamble ...

Dave, call me 'curious george'

Ahh nicknames...

Well over the years I have had quite a few...

I was Shorty thanks to the Professor at Southern Billiards back in college. Nobody else got to have that nickname but me back then. He used to say "Best player in the world under three feet tall". Still says he will back me against anybody that height or smaller. ;)

Then when I left college, I wanted to change my nickname, so I became KidShark. Well people then got the wrong idea about that name...seemed like a little bit of a sick idea. So I went back to Shorty.

My APA captain calls me Chode though...something about a show on Sci-Fi that comes on at 10pm tonight for those interested. Think it's called Tripping the Rift? Someone will have to explain the show to me as us old people go bed at around 9 LOL

Greg doesnt rhyme with anything, Masayoshi doesnt rhyme with anything. and my skill isnt distinct enough for an adjective before my name. no nick name for me i guess :( . actually, i used to be one of the top ranked players in the country at a certain video game, everybody who played knew me as MASA because that was what i put all over ranking lists.

Gotta know

Don't stop there, Tom. You gotta give up, as Paul Harvey would say, "The Rest Of The Story."

Did you ever clue Grady in as to your identity? If so, what was said then?

Silencer

That's because everytime I go down on a shot, the pool hall goes quiet!!!! They are all watching me to see what unbelievable shot I am gonna make next. 4 rail kick or 5 rail bank in the side pocket. My last run was 376 and I put togrther 30 racks of nine ball. I have only strung 5 racks together in 1 pocket. Holy shit, my nose is growing. OK, OK, it was only 375, 27 racks , and 4 in 1 pocket. I am thinking about going pro any day now. Watch out guys, here comes the SILENCER.
