i came across this a while ago and though it might be a little "off color" so to speak (no pun intended) i still had a little chuckle......................

in 8 ball you "cage" all the "coloreds" together to start the game putting the "black" in the middle. then you remove the "cage" and WHACK them with "whitey". you then use "whitey" to try and knock all "your" coloreds in their "holes" and the winner is the one who does this and then knocks the "black" in last. the "black" has to go in "clean". it can't have any help from any other coloreds. all the coloreds when knocked in must stay down but if "whitey" is knocked in it gets to come back out and play all the while getting another crack at the coloreds. if you end up with the same fate as the "black" on your last shot (scratching) you loose.

I think the great Rev. Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson would both agree with you, that pool is just another form of Racism. Since the start all games related appear to have started in Egypt. It also appears they were changed to their present form in the last few hundred years after their introduction into Europe!!!!

I also hope know one takes this seriously, because the next thing you know there will be multi-colored cue balls, and white object balls with spots to designate eye color. Then the Middle Eastern population will get involved and we will have exploding balls or IUDs built into the rails. Man this is scary!!!!! :D :D

Wow, this could really open up a can of worms;)

A good pool room is about the least racist spot you'll find.

I hate racism

That's from an Eddie Murphy movie where he falls in love with Halle Berrie's character. IIRC Arsenio Hall delivered those lines. :)

It's a bunch of hooey.. white balls were always the stricken balls in billiards. Probably because you didn't have to bleach them when they were ivory turned, therefore making them easier and cheaper to purchase, as opposed to a "colored" ball. So when "pocket" billiards was invented, the white cue ball was probably just a natural selection. You had colors, and stripes. The eight ball being black just makes sense when you think about it.
I think the black bowling ball knocking down rednecked whitey's is kind of funny. I never saw it that way till the post. But again it makes sense, since bowling alley's back in the day were dimly lit. White pins were probably easier to see.

The movie was Boomerang and Martin Lawrence delivered the lines , but they were completely different and not as detailed.

Fatboy hit upon something for me...I learned to question my racism from my experiences in a pool room. Meet enough fine people of a given race and ignorance gives way to experience. Thanks to an education at the hands of many stronger opponents, I've learned to hang the 8-ball much less frequently.

Of course in snooker "blacks" are the most highly valued of all:)

Yeah, right, you get the most points for shooting a black. (If that ain't racist nothing is)

There are a lot of games that could be twisted to seem racist.

In chess, the white pieces always go first.
