Not saying that pool players should wear a suit but look at some of the snooker events where players are in tuxedos, it portrays a completely different image from 8-ball and 9-ball tournaments.
Snooker portrays a stuffy image to me , that is just my view , it is overkill as far as dress , it just depends on how you were raised and the culture you were raised in .
I never actually said I thought the snooker image was a great one, just that it was very different from north american 8 and 9 ball. I agree that slacks and polo shirt should be enough.
I think it's especially important for those that are sponsored by a major company, as you are representing that company you are their on site image and that image should be professional. I think in general, those players that have a sponsors patch on DO portray a much more professional image than those that don't. The women in general also tend to dress MUCH better than the men.
