Dollar for dollar, which production cue is hard to beat??

Action... sneaky Pete ....

40-50 bucks... hits as good as anything I have used in 20 years. Put the tip of your chosing on and ready to go!!

Allen Hopkins' Triniti Cues

Folks:

I'd like to put a vote in for Allen Hopkins' Triniti Cues:

http://triniticues.com/

I needed a decent inexpensive player for a local traveling cash league, and being friends with Allen Sr. & Jr., I thought to give their cues a try. I purchased the "Illuminati" model. (Yes, I know those are not inlays, but rather faux lamina.) I was very impressed with the quality and the hit. And rolling this cue on the rail (placing the buttcap on the table bed, leaning the forearm on the cushion, and then rolling it -- with shaft attached) shows how precisely made it is. It rolls with absolutely NO WOBBLE at the tip at all! I had the Irish Linen removed and replaced with a Tiger stack leather wrap (which I prefer over Irish Linen).

I'd recommend the Triniti Cue line to anyone looking for an inexpensive great quality production cue.

Hope this is helpful,
-Sean

Cuetech

I just bought a Cuetech (Earl Strickland Model) from a guy who quit playing. It hit so well, I put on an ivory ferrule and Sniper tip. Now it hits so well, I wouldn't sell it for anything.

You did not put an ivory ferrule on a Cuetec? Did you?

The polar caps are melting but HELL is freezing over. :-) That is honestly something I never thought I would read, not even as a joke.

And I don't have anything against Cuetec, one of the minority of supporters here.

I just find it funny to think of a Cuetec with an ivory ferrule.

Somewhere Travis Trotter is doing a victory dance.

Ah Jimmy, you made me laugh bud! Remember them days? I got real snippy w/ you because you "besmirched" the great Earl and......Well, I was wrong and I'm glad we ended up pals! Oh Canada!! :D

Now, in all seriousness, Earl can't be my daddy because he was born in 1961. I was already 2 years old. Ah yes, I remember that day (when Earl was born) clearly....I was laying on my right side in my playpen watching Bugs Bunny cartoons when my momma came running in with the July 1961 issue of The National Billiard News. On page 3, first column on the left, there was a story proclaiming that a baby boy was born on June 8, 1961 at the Greensboro, N.C. General Hospital weighing in at 7lbs 8oz. He was named ________ Earl Strickland and he was going to become the GREATEST 9 ball tournament player of all time! (The blank before the name Earl is because Earl is really his middle name. He goes by Earl because he prefers it over his first name that was bestowed up him at birth. *Not many know this, but any card-carrying Earl Strickland Fan Club member in good standing knows these tid-bits by heart)

And Jimmy, no need for the J/K LOL codes....Since I've been put on meds, I'm much less aggressive than I was back in the day! :boring2: And anyway, you're my friend and I know you're just joshing around! I like good natured ribbing!

Lastly, for now, I send you and Mrs leggs sincere and fond greetings from the land of sunburn and heat stroke to the land of hockey pucks and mooses rumaging thru younse's back yards!:D

Thx for laugh Terry, hope your well.

IMHO, Mezz is better than most custom cues.. Very high quality and solid playability..

I'm going with Dale Perry here. I think most would agree that his cues can't be considered custom anymore.

A guy was trying to sell me one a few weeks back (for way too much) and the cue hit and looked great. I didn't want to put it down but, I knew I could get a brand new one for $125+-. Hard to believe he can build 'em that cheap.

i agree dale perry cues hit great for the money i put one of his dpr shafts on and it hits freaken awesome

Officially I say McDermott. Lifetime warranty on mine.
Since it's really the Indian not the arrow the real answer is whatever reasonably priced production cue that doesn't fall apart and can be repaired by any cue maker. In other words avoid strange joints and ferrules.

soulhassorroow had the right answer , but for the wrong reason.
SPORTCRAFT the wood ones , not fiberglass/graphite/titanium etc
the question was , dollar for dollar , who has the best production cue ?
$7.95 @ Wallyworld . take your time , find a straight one (you may need to visit SEVERAL locations ) . Uncrew that cheap-azz screw-on tip & throw it away . Glue on a $.36 LePro tip
1) you won't cry if it gets stolen
2) if you leave it in the trunk and it warps , you wont care
3) you'll get more action because no one - absolutely no one - will believe you know what you're doing when you walk into a pool hall with it
4) If it ever breaks , just go to Wallyworld n get another one - you can replace the whole cue for what a professional tip replacement costs , and
your never far from Wallyworld.

NO , they aren't the best cue . But they are the best cue DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR

maybe someday you can trade it up- for a Budweiser

support China & all off-shore made products !!!

Which production cue you think is hard to beat if dollar for dollar?

OK....I've always answered these type of posts with Jacoby. Jacoby makes CUSTOM cues for the most part, but they do have a line of production (standard style) cues. IMO they play as well as ANYTHING out there. Since you've done polls to see what is "the BEST", and now a post on "dollar for dollar", I'll just post a link to the wanted/for sale section, and say BUY THIS. Nothing fancy, yet attractive. Will likely play as well as cues Dave has made that cost THOUSANDS more. And, you can buy it from an AZB member....

So, here goes - BUY THIS - http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=193132&highlight=jacoby

For under 3 bills (shipped to your door), it HAS to be in the running for best, dollar for dollar! you can thank me later :p

Actually, If you were going to buy a Jacoby, this is the one I'd be thinking of: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=195331.

Rusty, in the link you posted, didn't the picture of the shaft look like it has a 13mm ferrule and a 11mm tip on it???

Mezz and Schon are tops for production.

Joss, Viking, and McDermott are right behind them for good quality production cues.

The Players Sneaky is a good cue for the light budget.

At the price point for Mezz and Schon, you can get into a plain custom cue from a lot of makers. It all depends what you're looking for.
