In Search of Laminated 30" Dowels

Hi,

I too am looking for laminated 30" dowel rods in maple or hickory.

Atlas does not have them anymore.

Thanks for any info.

I am curious, have you used Hickory as a coring dowel in a cue? Can you relate it's characteristics if you have?

30in laminated dowel

Atlas still has birch and maple 16.5 inch. You can buy 2 - 16.5 inchers and make a full core. Bore a hole in one and turn a tennon on the other and glue them together. This joint will probably be in the handle so it won't be a problem.

Before I put two small cores together, I would rather go back to using an A-Joint.

Thank you for your suggestion, it is valid and would work fine but is not usefull in my application.

Thanks,

Rick G
