Just saw this on the Tournament Section from the owner of Sandcastle Billiards. Can anyone confirm this?

Dear Player: Everyone can play worryfree. WPA Penalties Lifted.
We are informing you that WPA has agreed there will be no penalties on players participating in the Women's International Pool Championship.
Dragon Promotions encourages all players to play and continue your original plan for New York City.
We thank you for your patience, and very much look forward to seeing everyone soon in NYC.
Thank you and Safe Travels,
Dragon Promotions

It's good if they did lift it, but still won't get anywhere a full field with the high entry and low added. Johnnyt

Well DP probably corrected the wording in their PR. So now it's their tournament. I don't see why the WPA should keep the penalties.
Let's see who's gonna travel across the globe and pay 520 + 150 x many (for hotel) for a 10k added 64-player tourney.

Yep

It's time DP was put in their place !

Would like to see what they (DP) changed in the press release.
Now it says Inaugural. :)

The World 14.1 should be next for a name change.
WPA should put an end to that BS as well.

P.S. Very surprised AZ doesn't have a release about this after all the
ABR interviews, by Mike.

If in deed true I am surprised that there is not a press release on the AZ Home Page!

Well they have apparently closed out their old Facebook page and pointing to the newly titled one:

Time is running out on the $80 early bird PPV "deal" :shakehead:

Both the WPA and DP have press releases on the AZ Home page.

Wpba

Yep, I misread it to. It says sanctioned by the WPBA. Looks like all is good to go for the tournament!
