Drake Bell - Files banruptcy

Come on kids, lets get a little bit real here. When your annual income drops from 400K to 14K in one year you are going to have financial problems. No manager or consultant is going to have you set up for devastation like that, and seriously any agent that tells a 27 year old man, who feels that his star is on the rise, to plan for a 96% loss of income would have been fired.

Its fun to judge and maybe fun to see successful people fail, but something went seriously wrong with his career here and it wasn't his money management that caused it.

Food for thought. ~ Some guy, that is VERY loosely attached to pool, files banruptcy and it's a 5 page thread on a billiard forum...

Are we really this bored?

How is sharing news deserving of a red rep? It may not be good news and I'm sorry to hear it but he is a celeb and people like to know this stuff. If Robin didn't want people to discuss he sons life she should have made sure he didn't become famous because people talk about famous people good and bad.

This is a billiards forum and I feel it was posted because of mom's fame. If i am wrong "sorry" but that is how i feel.

It has little to do with boredom. If something positive about Drake was posted it would get 2 pages and die off.

Actully, someone good woud have said live on $75K a year, pocket the rest becasue this occupation is hit or miss sometimes and you don't want to take a shit gig just for the cash, where as if you planned ahead, you could be more "selective" then some of the stars in Hollywood taking on crappy movies they don't even like :)

Sure, you tell a 27 year-old go-getter that just cashed 400K annual that he need to live as though he makes 75K and see how long you are employed.

It's hard to live on 75k when you make so much more, the old saying is the more you make the more you spend. A kid like him would think the money is endless. I hope all this press somehow lands him a good job.

It's a "catch -22". It is being kept alive by all the people who don't want it here. Most everyone else has made their one comment and moved on.

I'd still be employed, because he is free to ignore my advice, and looks like he did just that. Funny, how many others can live below their means and do quite well :)

You talking about the advice you gave him AFTER he went BK? Dummy should have paid better attention to you.

Well, when you try and keep up with the Beiber's on a half ton pay check, thats what can happen.

I ain't Burt Reynolds and I ain't Tom Selleck.

My baby loves me, Cadillac Style.

Forget trying to keep up with The Beib.

Forget getting help with handling money.

Get some help with handling those tweets. You really have to wonder just how smart is is trashing someone as super-popular as Justin when you are on your way to a 14K year.

Of course you and I both know who he should have turned to for biz advice in the biz town of how to do the biz in LA. Should have talked to the BizMan and got the sccop on keeping his biz off the streets.

Not really that is common in the entertainment business. Some actors make like one movie every few years they may get 10 million for and next year make nothing. They need to have put some of that money to work for them when the big bucks are not coming. It is always feast or famine in that business. I remember a well known actor saying every time he finishes a project he can't stop the feeling he may never work again. It is the paranoia that actors live with.

I have a friend who sells commercial real estate. He better be able to manage his money because he may not get a paycheck for many months then he gets one for $300,000.00. Not everyone makes a paycheck every week. People who have sporadic and non-dependable incomes have to live differently with a different mind set. When people make money they never saw before they may tend to go a little nuts. As with some lottery winners you read about who can go through it all.

It sounds like the real problem with Drake is the house he bought. That is where the neg debt comes from. I am sure there are people on this forum who are in the same boat just not to the kind of number he is. Once he dumps the house he can probably get straightened out fairly easy. The problem is can he ever make the kind of money he made before, that may be unlikely. He is in for a reality check.

Does a youngster just starting out need that expensive a house?

Probably not but he has to keep up the image that he is trying to portray.

The house really wasn't much compared to many others in Hollywood but obvioulsy, it was beyond his means.

I agree, Tweeting against the Beibs, one can't know the outcome. When the guy has a temper tantrum in a coffee shop over a carmel machiato and has to get slapped out, you never know what he can do to your career.

Make a couple of calls and just maybe the work stops coming in quite so regular.

Beibs is a little b itch and he will do it to you.

But yeah, I agree, should have had the Biz Man take care of a bit of Biz for you.

LAs Biz scene is different than the Biz in Vegas.

But Biz is Biz and one thing a BizMan will tell you is you never put your Biz in the streets, especially when your fan base (hopefully) is the Biebs's fan base. In that case you keep your Biz to yourself, that's how you do Biz.

For example:

Pre-Bieb posting - make $400K annually

then - tweet anti-Bieb blurb

Post-Bieb posting make 14K annually

You don't need a BizMan to tell you. Don't tweet anti-Bieb.

Only one way to repair this damage.

Leak a sex tape.

I hear TAR is looking for work.

JCIN vs The Bieb on TAR. Loser has to pay off Drake's debts. PPV hosted by Rogan.

Everybody wins.

Throw in the JB vs Lou under card and we could get this thing on ABC

well ESPN

well 3

well streamed

well POV

(I love "Everybody wins")
