Dress Codes at the BCAPL

And that's the key words here, "...appropiate for that event."

In the past when some of those same women HAVE played in the BCAPL National Championships they have played in dress code for it.

I don't know how old you are but at any age it amazes me that you've made it this far in life. Congrats on beating the odds.

I was attending High School in the 1960's, so guess my age. Your misquoting me by making it look like I said, "words words words words words" is total Bu*****T.

I am sorry you did not like my OPINION about DRESS CODES IN GENERAL.

But I long ago learned to respect things like DRESS CODES, & RULES and if I did personally did not wish to comply say with a DRESS CODE of an event I was invited to, or found I a Tie & Jacket was necessary to eat some fancy restaurant. I just did not go as it was not a big deal to me.

When I was in High School we had a DRESS CODE, that I can not think of many times a student was sent home to change in to clothing to comply with the DRESS CODE. But it did happen one in a while, and the parents did not show up at School, and cause a fuss. Maybe we were robots, but the world was a better place then in the 60’s & 70’s IMHO.

The students back then who parent wanted them to have a Catholic Education in Catholic Parochial School, wore uniforms to school ever day, it was just how it was, and everyone accepted those rules as part of being in a Catholic Parochial School.

Back in the 60’s & 70’s were not plagued with trying to be POLITICALLY CORRECT, or as I like to say, what was Politically Incorrect back then in now Politically Correct.

You just got a FREE HISTORY LESSON from someone who live that history.

I suspect the root of this problem was that a man (or men) wrote the men's and women's dress code.

well no kidding.... ;)
now if Mark's GF were in charge of the dress code, there'd be a whole new "look" & CLEARY would be the POSTER BOY!

to sum up the last 87 posts:

There is a point to having a dress code, but for the love of God use some damn common sense!

Shout it out brother, DRESS CODES....

Lou, trust me, I understand that "presentable" is an opinion... but setting a standard that women must wear a collar is laughable. I posted photos of four of the most recognizable female pool players on earth who see more tv airtime than anyone in our game... and not one of them were dressed appropriate for that event. That says a lot.

Cleary, what it says is that they were not playing in a CSI event with a dress code.

Look, this is very simple: the dress code in question is an attempt by CSI to get thousands of players to look semi-decent at an event they're running. End of story. They want the players to look nice at a business casual, jeans Friday level and the dress code they came up with is their best stab.

Don't like it, don't play.

When I know I have 6 months to live I am going to go to the BCAPL event or the DCC and take some pictures of some of the people there. And then simply post them on AZ.

We got reprimanded last year for having the team name 'Don't F With' but it is ok to have team names such as 'Balls and Shafts' or some girl with big tits and her team name being 'How's My Rack' or 'Check My Rack'.

This is on the same line as them stating that Cleary's partner was not in dress code but others dressed like they are going to change the oil in their pickup truck are ok.

There is a difference between R and X rated. Clearly "Don't F With" crosses the line.

Anyway, it's still easy: don't like the code, don't play. Doesn't get much simpler.

Just one udder thing: all this whining about the CSI dress code reminds me of how the smokers went on about how and why they should be allowed to smoke wherever they wanted...

News flash: You lost. The war is over. Go home to your loved ones.

Want to play in a CSI event? Adhere to the dress code. Or be prepared to hit the gift shop for some over-priced duds :-)

Lou,
1) look at the pictures of how she was dressed.
2) read post #88.

You'll get it.

Guess I should have called our team name 'Don't Fock With' cause 'Lucky Fockers' was an approved name.

From the announcer booth:

"Ricky Fowler lines up his final shot and the ref calls a wardrobe foul on his teammate. Everybody is loving Ricky's pink outfit today. "

How the f do I make this more clear? How on earth do you not grasp such a simple concept?

Their attempt at making a dress code is to get people to look nicer. I'm glad you get that... However just making a code doesn't make people dress nicer. Women can look outstanding and appropriate without a collar... Or sleeves. (Women don't typical wear collars btw) You can also look like dogsh!t within code and 5 min walking around that tournament proves that.

Yes I get the "it's our rules, if you don't like it don't play" but where does that get us? That's the mentally that holds this game back. I'm not boycotting. I believe they can improve and if they don't know they're doing it wrong, they'll never move forward.

This isn't a "8 on the break" type of rule... In this instance, they inforced a rule that defeated the point of having the rule. How you don't get that is beyond me. Im guessing it's just Lou being Lou.

I saw the picture.

Now grant me this as a possible scenario: a dress code; thousands of players; and a handful of guys hired to be referees. The briefing is basically: "Enforce the dress code. No exceptions."

It's a big event. That's how this stuff happens.
