I Agree..
Earl has been Strong and very quiet....Jeremy has been playing great, I believe he came back from 8-4 with Toastie to win.
Should be an exciting final, just hope Earl stays calm...

I'll let Toasty know know you thought the field was weak. That Strickland guy is just a league player out of his depth in a final like Turning Stone

Shane and Johnny are missing, but so are Mika Immonen, Jayson Shaw, and Darren Appleton. Johnny T is right --- this is a much weaker field than what is usual at Turning Stone, and it's all because the event coincided with the World Cup of Pool

What was the score of the Corr/Stricland match. Did she keep it close? As much as I hate Earl I have to admit he's playing really well this year. Just imagine what he could do if he was right between the ears?!
I think Johnny might have overstated his feelings a little but I have to agree that there are some noteable absences like the Pinoys, a few top Europeans and of course Shane and Johnny.

I don't know why people don't like Earl....
I'm guessing you are young and never knew of him in the 1980's and 90's.
I don't know of any player that is more active and more involved in pool.
And it's been this way longer than anyone else.
Without Earl, the sport would really be boring.:smile:

Earl is perfect for a subculture reality show, which are the rage on TV these days.
I would pitch a reality show following a season of Team 9-ball at Amsterdam. Nearly all the pros in New York participate in that league.

In the 1980's, he was just a regular young guy with a lot of talent.
He was respectful and really liked everything to be perfect.
He wanted the tables to be perfect and everyone around the table to be quiet and still.

I guess me and Earl have some things in common and I understand him.
I am fairly young(32) but I've seen plenty of video of his. You'll never hear me knock his ability. When he's right between the ears, he's unbeatable. That doesn't mean he's not a complete d$&k. From making light of the fact that Shane has a hearing aid to blaming Billy Incardona for talking too loud in the booth. This guy will blame anyone else but himself for his short comings. The only reason people want him on the Mosconi team is for ratings. He's a cancer and an embarrassment to represent my country. I think I've made my feelings pretty clear
still there were several great players in the field- Morris, Dechaine, Hohmann, Hatch, etc. Morris and Hohmann have been playing great this year.
I think some people that commented on Earl's top speed being the top speed of all-time are correct. When he is dialed in his play is like a work of art
