Earl - speaking the truth

Tar XX Race to 100

Just came across this interview between Justin and Earl.
Is it ok to admit that I have a man crush on Earl? LOL

Good stuff. This is just prior to the match with Shane on the 5x10.

Great interview with Earl in one of his calmer moments. What he says about the 5X10 table is right on the mark. If you haven't seen the entire match, buy it! You'll help support Justin and the Tar guys while getting 11 dvds of action on a super-tough 5x10 table. And of course, there's a generous helping of controversy as well.

I was there when it happened and I bought 3 copies. This is the kind of match we may never see again. It's a keeper.

Call me crazy, but pro pool and the powers that be could do a lot worse than if they listened and took some of Earl's idea's and ran with them. He thinks out of the box for sure. Johnnyt

PS: Also, Shane should play Earl again on a 10' table. A table that is set up right. I believe it would be a war, and a very close war at that.

I sure would not call you crazy, Earls ideas are good ones and thought out by a player who has done it all better then anyone else.

I don't think Earl can afford a injured hand;). I have a feeling the dude at 1:30 ish is known around here.
don't you think he is a little too old for internet? ;);) JK, if he really posts here then he should know he acted childish during that interview.

The match vs Shane on the ten footer was the most exciting action I've ever sweated. I bet on Earl and every out I was tense because you knew every shot was tough. There was no breathing easy. But by the end of the match Earl proved to me he was the most talented run out player on the planet.

I m a great fan of Earl for sure. Saw him live in germany in the early 90 s and met him on an exhibition. It s funny anyway- if McEnroe acted like Earl, it was just *entertainment* -and if Earl overreacted, many guys where hollering at or about him.
But what is in my opinion 100% sure is, that Earl says what he thinks-he has the balls for that kind of communication. I m very sure that many other guys sharing some of his opinions- but they just don t let it out. To discuss about what is right and what not is not the point i try to say here. He is just a real unique person. And for sure he s still unbelievable strong. And i still like him. I just had the chance to talk some minutes to him-and he was a friendly and very nice guy.
In competition thousands of players *mutating* to another person-- kind of self-insurance or what ever.

I hope he will have another great 20 years :-)

He entertains, even if he don t want to^^

I am not aware of the outcome. Did Earl win ? what was the final score ?
