On Tuesday June 9th beginning at 8:00 pm at Gate City Billiards Club, Earl Strickland will play anyone interested a best of 3 challenge match.

We will create a plaque that will say "I Beat Earl Strickland" and everyone that beats him will get their name and date added to that plaque.

The cost for everyone that pre-registers will be $20. He will play the matches in order of registration. No one is registered until paid. He will also play walk-ins if time permits.

Win or lose, this may be your one opportunity to play one of the greatest players in the history of pool. One day your Grand kids may ask you "did you ever meet Earl" and your answer could be, "not only did I meet him, I played a challenge match against him". And if your real lucky (or good) you may have your name on a plaque to prove it.

To pre-register, stop by Gate City Billiards Club any time between now and June 9th.

I've paid a lot more to get beat by Earl, if I lived closer I would love to just pay $20 for a chance to get a WIN...

Great idea.

$20.00 is as cheap as it gets.

$15.00 is cheaper...

So when can i sign up for the beat Earl at Golf?? I'll pay 20 for that but of course he will have to give me 1 throw per hole....:poke::poke:

Can you please change the plaque to read "I beat Earl Strickland at pool"? The current phrasing encourage others to make fun of those who win.

How about borrowing BCA master instructor Tom Simpson's slogan? His slogan is "Beat People with a Stick". Top, left of the web page.

The plaque could read "I beat Earl Strickland with a Stick."

They could make one.. "I beat earl strickland at pool and he wouldn't shake my hand but at least I got this plaque"

Just kidding. A lil tacky joke there. I think this is a great idea and I'd be all over it if I were within driving distance. Hope someone gets pics.

Very Cool!! Should be a great draw for both of you. Way to go Earl!!

It's a great value. Cheaper than pool school. :grin-square:
Yeah thats true but with this one you will only learn how to rack for Earl :) Thats why its cheaper. Otherwise we would have to pay you a nickle per rack.

I'd do it if I lived in that area.

terrific idea. I would pay (donate) 20 to try that.

*edit* It should be alternating break though. I don't think Id be very happy to pay 20 bucks to watch Earl break & run 2 racks. I could do that from the rail watchin other peoples money burn. lol.

What's the game?
Does the challenger get the break on every game?

Great Idea

This is great idea i wish I lived closer. This could generate some good cash and would be fun as hell!I pay 20 dollars in a second just to say I played him.You never know I have been known to run out myself.

His oppenants get all the breaks, but the nine gets spotted if dropped on the break.

I wish it wasn't so far from where I live or I'd be there for sure. $20 for a chance to play a legend is nothing......

Is June 9th the only time this will happen or will you do the next Tuesday?
