EARL STRICKLAND Returns to TEAM USA

Can you name names? Can this young talent consistently beat Earl much less Europe top players?

Not really. Since it's not going to be a pool competition a side show is the next best thing I guess.
Yeah...there isn't enough young talent in this country.

Most of our young pros have played in juniors and just know everyone...so when they go pro, they get sponsored and get invites to events. Tell me what events have these young guys won versus top talent???

With the

I got a feeling he's gonna run out from everywhere.

Now let's get Mike Dechaine on the team to so we could actually win this.
That might get kinda pricey 'cause they'd need an extra plane and more hotel rooms. I don't know one person that could fade rooming with Douche-aine.

I was disappointed to read on Facebook a post written by Dechaine about Earl saying, "Let the circus begin."

What makes Team USA win is unity. The team players support each other and have a team spirit. When Johan Ruijsink was Captain of Team USA, he created a unity that was sorely needed. That is why, in my opinion, Team Europe was successful under Johan Ruijsink's leadership style.

I know Mike Dechaine has a strong fan following, especially in the Northeast, but it would be nice if he adjusted his attitude some and tried to be more amiable with others from time to time.

Thank goodness, Jeremy Jones and Shane Van Boening know who's who and what's happening in the American pool world much more than me as a virtual railbird. I trust their judgment on who the next two picks will be, and I'm sure they will be team players.

Can you actually name a tourney that Earl was thrown out of? Can you name one tourney in which Earl actually fought anyone, let alone pushed anyone ?

I only wish I could humiliate myself with 6 world championships and 5 US open wins and be considered one of, if not, the best 9 baller that ever lived. The horrors, the horrors. LMAO

Funny, how every other sport there are the guys like Dennis Rodman, John McEnroe, Jim McMahon, John Daley, basically the entire Detroit Pistons team from the 1990's, etc. etc. Not only were they still invited or signed by teams, they made MILLIONS from endorsements. Hell, I saw McEnroe in a commericial recently, must be in his mid-60s and he's still collecting off his "bad boy" behavior.

But, heavens to betsy, God forbid someone sully the name of pool and all the beautiful people that play it ;)

Yet, NBA is nothing but thugs and are a multi BILLION dollar business with the biggest idiots making $30M per year. LMAO We can't have someone "argue" with players, my gosh, the Queen might be in attendance. Not BLOODY likely. lol
I agree with what you say, and also what one of the above post says as well, this is a television show not the US Open!
Television shows need eyeballs, eyeballs make the sponsors happy, when sponsors are happy they spend more more so that more eyeballs see it in the future, am I missing something? Who better than Earl to get more eyeballs watching this on the screen and make the sponsors happy? The Mosconi Cup is an entertainment show designed to entertain those who wish to watch, nothing more nothing less. I for one hope that Earl does well, which is very possible in these sort set matches.

Don't forget Matchroom. They have a say in who gets picked also.

isn't that the exact reason MD isn't a sponsored pro attending mosconi cup and other events? unadjustable attitude

Does anyone know what the winners and losers payouts will be for this year?

Edit: Can't seem to find on the Matchroom Website. I think in prior years it was $30K to each member of the winning team; and $15K to each member of the losing team. I mean Earl could probably use the $15K at the worst.

American Pool.

How about everyone also chip in to promote another movie that glorifies drunks and violence and cons in the Pool community?

Folks wonder why parents don’t want their kids in the Pool Hall.

Strickland is a pathetic germ of a human being. He should have been kicked out the door descades ago.

Have you EVER met the guy? Away from competition he's as nice a guy you can meet. Great at giving lessons and actually ok to be around. But you get him in the right surroundings and he just goes nuts. He's NOT a 'pathetic germ of a human being'. Far from it. Got issues? Oh yeah he does.

dumbest effing shit i heard in a long while. the lunatic just got DQ'd for shoving and kicking a player at an adjecent table in a WPA tournament!! wtf is this

so JJ and MR condone this beh

Hope they bring back Michaela Tabb

I hope they bring her back too, she's a damn good ref.
And I believe she could whup his ass in a fair fight.
I'm also glad JJ picked Earl. No way I'll not make time to watch now that I know Earl is in.
He's good for the game mainly because of his antics.
Folks watch Nascar waiting to see the wreckage.
I've seen some interviews with Earl and I do like the guy, although some of his
shit would knock the proverbial "chip off my shoulder" if I was playing him.
I've also heard that he's really a good guy when not competing.
of his antics.

yeah, between the drugs, drinking and quitting matches, somehow Ronnie O' still did OK, huh? Did you give him a pass? Bet you did. LOL
Oh, tell me more about how sophisticated the drunkards at the Mosconi Cup will be this year? Please, if you want to talk about bottom barrel scraping, we will see that up close and personal with the Euro trash fans. No offense intended, LOL

Think that geodude is from canada. A place so well known for polished behavior. ;)

In all seriousness, is there anybody in the pool world that can calm Earl down when he goes on tilt? If so, that person needs to be involved in some capacity on Team USA. Otherwise, odds are fairly high that he will lose it when something goes against him and then his quality of play will deteriorate.
