I hasten to use this phrase, but maybe you should learn how to read. If you think those words are a verbatim quote of Jack Nicholson's character in "A Few Good Men," then I do feel bad for you. Jack Nicholson never mentioned the word "forum" in any of his scripted lines in the movie, FWIW!

I do have a life outside of AzBilliards. Unfortunately or fortunately, I work on a computer for a living. While I am typing this post, I am working, dubbing a webcast to be transcribed in 30 or so minutes.

You, on the other hand, have a habit of contributing flippant posts, many times poking fun at others in an effort to hurt people's feelings. You may think it is funny, but I think you're a trouble-maker. That is my opinion, and you are entitled to yours. You tried to belittle me on the Jimmy Wych thread, the most recent attempt to target me by you, and now you are doing it on this thread. Maybe you should pick on somebody else, now that I have called you out on it.

Do you like this atmosphere of the Mosconi Cup?
Yes

Are the Europeans behaving in a manner that you believe is conducive to pool?
It's entertainment not pool. If it was a serious pool event Earl Strickland would be nowhere near it.

You criticize Earl Strickland. Check out the Europeans antics in the link.
All I see is fans totally wrapped up in the events. Inspiring their players to excel, and cheering their every success. They are on their best behaviour when the players are playing. What's your problem? Would you prefer it to be watched by a crowd of almost 4 like Reno?

It's okay when the Europeans bring a WWW and soccer-like atmosphere to a pool competition in your eyes, I presume.
For the Mosconi cup why not? Don't kid yourself it's US v Europe. It's Barry Hearn making a show for tv.

So try not to dodge the question again this time. Where was the heckling? At what point in that video was someone heckled?

You're now exhibiting your prejudice against American champion Earl Strickland. England may be considered part of the European Union, which is the only reason the Brits are included on Team Europe at the Mosconi Cup.

That said, there must be a reason why there is no Team England. Must be America has produced more pool champions than the Brits.

My problem is your double standard. That atmosphere would be difficult for any pool player to compete in. You are blinded by your hatred of Earl Strickland.

I don't dodge questions. I saw where Earl was, indeed, heckled when he was shooting his match by the audience. If I could edit the YouTube link to show you, I would, but I do not know how.

You claim that Earl behaved in an undesirable manner. I say when in Rome, do as the Romans do, or in this instance, do exactly like the European barbarians as exhibitied in that link.

I never said it was verbatim. You were trying to claim the moral high ground and talk about truth. To do that you took a quote from a fictional character lying through their teeth on the witness stand. You even stuck a picture of the character up in case we didn't recognise who the quote came from. It's funny Jam, whether you like to think so or not. It doesn't matter that you don't notice the irony, that just adds to the funny.

i don't like the way, you are permanently using the word "the europeans".
the europeans are more than a crowd of a few hundreds of pool fanatic freaks from the netherlands at the mosconi cup last year.

the match between nick and earl was at the last evening at 11:10 and after a couple of antics from your sweetheart in the course of the tournament. in other words, he did really the best, not to come across too friendly...
thats the way, bad boys are treated in such an emotionally loaded situation. no other american player had to struggle with those "european antics" like earl did. any idea why?

Agreed. BUT -- and this is a big "but" -- the "Europeans" -- with a capital "E" -- are the most vocal against American -- with a capital "A" -- champion Earl Strickland.

It was hard to see that for me, looking at the Europeans -- with a capital "E" -- in the audience stomping their feet, screaming at the top of their lungs, blowing their air horns, and waving objects in the stands. In other words, the Europeans did their best to not be too friendly to the American player in the pit at that time.

The audience, consisting of Europeans and Brits, were rude to all players they were pulling against.

You got called out on the Jim Wych thing b/c you spent a few days talking bout how "Jim did this and Jim said that..Jim was mean to Earl..what was Earl suppossed to do""..blah blah blah blah yadda yadda yadda...

then all of sudden you flip flop and make nice-nice to Jerry after his post...
Of course you didn't forget that you had to go "fix" your other previous posts.

That deserves some calling out.....so I did it...

The only reason is that nobody would watch it if it didn't contain people they know. Surely that occurred to you, or did you think Jimmy White and Mark Williams were prominent pool champions of yore.

That said, there must be a reason why there is no Team England. Must be America has produced more pool champions than the Brits.
Nobody plays the game. What can I say. It's even lower on the radar here than it is there.

My problem is your double standard. That atmosphere would be difficult for any pool player to compete in. You are blinded by your hatred of Earl Strickland.
Darryl Peach came through it in Manilla didn't he? It cuts both ways. Both players played in that atmosphere. The weight of expectation is just as onerous. And when did Earl worry about creating an atmosphere? And where did I say I hate Earl Strickland?

I don't dodge questions. I saw where Earl was, indeed, heckled when he was shooting his match by the audience. If I could edit the YouTube link to show you, I would, but I do not know how.
There's a timer on the video. Just quote what time and we can all see hear the heckling.

You claim that Earl behaved in an undesirable manner. I say when in Rome, do as the Romans do, or in this instance, do exactly like the European barbarians as exhibitied in that link.
You can't have it both ways Jam. Either it's just entertainment and anything goes as long as it puts bums on seats, or it's a serious sport and there's no place for the antics of Earl Strickland. I'm just pointing out the obvious. I think you're just a bit miffed that they enjoyed themselves.

you dont hve to eidt a you tube post...just simply post the time of the heckel...that way we could all see just EXACTLY what you mean...

FWIW, I was not the only one to make these statements, but you targeted me, as you consistently do in recent times. You have a habit of coming on this forum and making rude comments to others, not just me.

I will not stand down when you target me, or anyone else for that matter. If that is interpreted by you as me disagreeing with you, then so be it. Your personal attacks are getting old. Move on and try to contribute something pool-related for a change.

He won because of the bird break. Otherwise, if the rules were different, so, too, would be the 2007 WPC champion.

Point isnt that you were the only one flapping your lips about Wych...
You were the only one who went back and tried to "clean it up " after Jerry made a post. Stick to your guns...ya know..that's all I am saying...

Plus..the pic that got this whole conversation going was simply meant to convey that point that you and this clip have been around the block more than once.......hence the Not this shit again text.....

So you are faulting me for editing my posts about Jimmy Wych after reading Jerry Forsyth's post? You think this is worthy of calling me out?

The only reason you targeted me on that thread, like you are doing on this thread, is because this is what you do on AzBilliards.

This is what you are known for on AzBilliards, not for your pool-related posts.

I cannot remember reading a post written by you about pool in recent times. Rather, most of your posts are this type of colloquy, as in this thread.

You seem to enjoy targeting good-intentioned posters in an effort to either get a laugh at their expense or, in the alternative, bully innocent posters with your sarcasm.

And I'll post it again if I want to. It illustrates my point. If you don't like seeing the link, then that is tough cookies for you. I will post it AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN every single time the Europeans attack Earl Strickland's behavior, all the while claiming they desire a non-WWW-like atmosphere for pool.

On the one hand, I didn't mind seeing Daryl Peach claim the victory of the 2007 WPC. He has certainly paid his dues and been involved in pool for many, many years. It was a breath of fresh air for England, I am sure. :)

This year is the only year that the bird break came into effect at the WPC, and I don't know why it wasn't a factor in previous WPCs.

Have you ever been to a carnival where they have a pool table set up in a booth? Make three balls in a row and you win a big stuffed animal. The table is usually crooked, with snooker pockets, and warped cue sticks. The only way to win is to utilize the bird break. :D

You're letting your prejudices show again Jam. Why would it matter where you come from if the issue is Earl Strickland's behaviour? Are you ignoring all the Americans attacking Earl Strickland's behaviour? Do you accept their comments but not ours because we're European?

And where has anyone said they didn't like the atmosphere of the Mosconi cup?

And you still haven't answered the question. At what time in that video is the heckling?
