A good friend of mine bought this cue earlier this year. Well now he would like to sell it. What do you guy's (and ladies) think?
It's early 80's
Cleaned and refinished by Kersenbrock himself thru Ed Young.
Woods are African Mahogany and Birdseye points.
Butt weight is 18.55 oz.
Shafts 1&2 are 4.15 oz. each. Both ferrules are micarta, 1 is original and 2 was replaced by David. Both shafts are 12.75 in diameter.
As you can see in the picture of the points there appears to be a small hairline mark. David said its not a split in the wood and did not want to replace the point and change the originality of the cue. Plus he states that it will in no way affect playability.
Comments are always welcome:).
Deleted picture sorry, I'll repost some new ones tomorrow

We checked the weight of both the shafts at work and it turns out they both weigh 4.15 oz. Sorry for the mistake.
I'll be posting this cue in the For Sale section for 5000 OBO shortly. Thanks for the PMs guys.

4.15 oz shafts are not what i call light
in fact with a brass insert 4,15 is fairly heavy not light

South west shafts are usually 3.7 or so
either that or I don't know what I am talking about

No Dean I amended the original post because we had the weights wrong on the shafts. The original post had the weights at around 3.40 to 3.45 oz.
Sorry for the confusion.

Is the butt weight still at 18.55?

Great cue by the way. Always wanted to shoot with a dpk, but for now I will admire yours. :) thanks for sharing.

I'm already looking forward to it Art, see you and Brent there to have a few🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
BTW Doug the butt weight is still 18.55 oz.

I like how I made a statement, and then get told that I was wrong, and then found out that I was right.

Just like at home. Same as home, I never get credit....

My old ebony Southwest has (2) original shafts I think at 3.8 oz each and then I had Laurie make me one a 4.0 oz.

Just for the record, Southwest especially ebony ones are HEAVY. While they do balance out well, they are still HEAVY. I think the butt on mine is around the 18+ oz like this cue. So this one being 18.5 for the butt is a touch heavy but not way out of line.

When I have cues commissioned, I suggest a butt of 15 oz, and a shaft at 4.0 +, and they usually come in somewhere between 19-19.5 total where I like them.

Nice cue, GLWS.
