After 15 years in the billiard business, my position was eliminated today. Sorry that I won't be able to help as many of you AZ members with products in the future. Hopefully tomorrow will be a new day. Thanks to all that here that have helped me out as well...

Dude, very very sorry to hear that. You've my total sympathy as a fellow victim of the recession.

Thanks for all you've done for billiards. Wish you a speedy return to employment :)

I'm extremely sorry to hear this news. The economy is being tough on all of us right now. But usually when we go through tough times like this, we come out stronger and better in the end. Let's hang in there together.

Tough break. I hope you're not one of us older Americans, I was laid off a year and a half ago. There isn't much post-60 in the high tech industry.
Good luck, I hope you find something soon.
Steve.<-- will be winning the lottery any day now.

Chris, best of luck to you and your family in the upcoming future....may you bounce back quickly and better than ever....

We have a friend who had a Hungury Howies Pizza place in the Valley of the Sun, for the last year they were putting 4k/month in the place to keep it afloat, not taking any money out of it for their own saleries. Finally said UNCLE, and Walked AWAY! Things are tough out their.

It's tough all around. Hope you land on your feet. Get ready to fill out some forms and don't get discouraged.

I know it's hard, but stay positive. Often these things work out for the better in the long run. You have some marketable skills and that will help you in finiding other work.

The bad economy is really killing a lot of businesses, small and large. If there is an upturn, I haven't seen much of it myself yet.

Good luck, Chris and thanks for your many contributions.

Thanks to everyone for all of the kind words and support. This is what made this industry so great to be in.

The effects have been far reaching. In fact, the other day the economy shot my dog. Good thing I don't have to do homework anymore.

Seriously though, I just lost my franchise business of a chain of retail stores I'd been operating for 21 years. Yeah, 21... It's been absolutely brutal. I now have more time to play pool, unfortunately my game is not improving much as I find myself drinking too much beer and jager to numb the pain.

I'm sure Obama will have us all fixed up in no time though. ;)

Better times ahead. Gotta believe.

if wealth were measured in rep you sir would be the richest pussy cat in all the land....no worries ya got 9 lives you'll get there. Things could be worse....Nancy Pelosi and Obama might shut AZ billiards down so as not to have mis-spent youth as he said when he ran 2 balls lol.

Thats one thing great, all the time we spend on here many of us might as well be family. Can't keep a family full of sharks down forever brother :)

best wishes,

im with the third company i've worked for since adulthood. the first job i lost because of nafta. worked out great, my income when from mid thirties to mid eighties.

the second job i lost because it was cheaper to make our product in china. worked out great, my income went from mid eighties to 120+.

hate to say it, but sometimes i find myself wondering if this place closing the doors might be a good thing for me!

keep your chin up. something better will come along.

Nepotism took my job. May have to pawn all of my lumber eventually:mad:

You know what Job stands for right? J-ust O-ver B-roke.

Take your knowledge and git to work! We grow the most in the valleys.

Best of luck to you PTPCP!

pooltableproCP, I feel your pain, I am laid off my self and struggling. I get so tired of hearing on tv, things are getting better. All our government sees in numbers, they do not see the worried faces of us men and women trying to support our family. This country has to keep the jobs here, protect our borders, we can not help anyone until we can help our selves. Less Government and More Jobs.
