You'd have to be a fool to think he was trying that shot.
I have no parade to rain on.:speechless:
Did you watch the video?? Did you read what I said???
I don't think he was trying to make it ,,BTW.

Well if i ever get the chance to talk with him, i will definitely clear this one for everyone, i have seen post positive and negative comments, but what way to clear this out but to ask him "Efren" what was his real intention. Just give me time to ask him.
HERE'S the last rack of the Efren Reyes and Darren Appleton's match. Enjoy!![]()
btw, Efren shook Daz' hand 3 seconds after the 9 went in, so I don't know what the Dynamite was b!tching about...
What a sad way to lose a professional match! :frown:
LMAO!!! What about Darren's lucky ass rolls in that rack. Let's see.
Darren breaks and has a fairly routine shot. Good roll!
Then Darren misses the routine shot and leaves Efren a super-stroker. Good Roll!
Then Efren fires it in, but barely hooks himself. GOOD ROLL!!!
Then Efren kicks the 2 real good. But the CB hits the titty instead of rolling behind the 7 as planned. GREAT ROLL!!!!!
Then Darren kicks the 2 sort of safe. Efren return safes.
THEN....Darren kicks the 2 like sh1t and should have scratched in the side. Instead he leaves Efren on the wrong side of the 2. FANTASTIC ROLL!!!!!!
Then Efren tries to get to the 4 but ooops, hits the 6 and again he's hooked. Darren Appleton, the luckiest guy on the planet!!
After all that...Efren kicks this ball like an absolute champion but, luckily for Darren it was just a little soft. Darren can see the edge. Another great roll for the Brit.
Then...Darren misses his safe by a mile...but omg, gets another lucky safe. LMAO.
Finally, Efren gets a good roll...btw, it was another champion kick as the 4 was hidden. The 9 was a bonus.
When you dog the first shot of the rack...you better just be praying that you get another shot, let alone a shot on every f'ng ball!!!!
Are you joking? Either that or you didn't see it or you are completely clueless about pool lol. Efren went for the 4 in the corner. Crazy comments in this forum lol.
Daz is one of the most respectful and honest players EVER to play the game.
I love Efren to bits and don't have a major problem with his celebration. If all the Daz fans are honest it's not the celebration thats the problem... its how sick we feel after a tight match was settled by such a crazy fluke.
I think it's more of an English thing that you humbly apologise first and celebrate second but, like I say, Efren's not english and I still love the guy and if Daz wasn't playing I'm sure most of us would want the Magician to win.
Excellent post.....Given the speed he shot at I'd guess he was shooting the one rail kick to the side, but more importantly, I also think he was playing CB position for a safety, sending whitey up table behind all those balls.
I also think the thing to remember about Efren is that there's probably not a mean bone in his body and what you saw was an almost childlike exuberance when, one of those crazy things we've all seen happen on a pool table, happened. That it happened hill-hill, on the Accu-Stats table, at the US Open, against a great opponent was just icing on the cake. There is not a one of us who wouldn't have gone a little nuts in the same situation.

I think this was great.
Compare what he did to other mainstream professional sports:
In baseball, the team meets the batter at home plate if he hits a walk-off homerun. Remember the Prince Fielder "bowling" celebration?
In football, the players do little dances when they SCORE... not even win, just score! Imagine if every pool player did dumbass Tom Cruise/Color of Money dances after every shot!
In hockey, they just beat the shit out of each other.

DA didn't fluke the 9 ball here...
I remember a similar response from Efren when beating Earl many years ago with the 'z kick' to put in the 9 for the win when hooked. It's a natural response to the amazingly fortunate event that just happened. On the one hand I don't think you can blame him because you know there was no malice intended, on the other hand, I would have restrained myself and even apologized... JMO
