Efren Reyes quote

"It doesn't matter how good you are if you are not shooting"

Nice, this definitely applies to pool. It's not like golf, where everyone gets an equal opportunity to win.

Efren said this when Brooke (daughter of the owner of Hardtimes in Bellflower) matched up with him for a friendly match. Efren was giving her a ridiculous spot (something like the 3, 5, 7 and the breaks) and this was his response when asked what her chances were.

Here's a link to my favorite Efren quote (from the 2006 AZB Room Celebrity Scotch Doubles Match)

My second favorite Efren quote occurred at DCC this year when I asked if Efren would play me 9-ball, race to 3 for $100. He said something to the effect of , "only if you spot me." I doubt Efren has asked any of you guys for weight.:) :)

P.S. - it turns out he didn't really need the weight.

1 and up wild, and the breaks makes more sense to me:):):)

The breaks, ball in hand after the break, and the last 8. :D
Don't laugh.
I was sitting next to Efren.
This fool propositioned Efren. He says he needs the breaks, 5 out and the ball in hand after the break.
Efren tells him, " I need more practice to give you that.":D :D :D
I almost died.

It can't be! I heard him respond to this same proposition differently. He Said "As long as you shoot butt naked in a crowded gay bar"

Your post and Bandidos' , were funny as h**. Thanks for the chuckle, Kennyratt

At the finals of the KOH match last Dec., he shoots and misses. He does his typical neck grab/ smile and turns away to walk back to his seat. Bustamante is his cornerman for the match sitting next to my girlfriend. As he's walking back to his seat, he and Bustamante make eye contact and smile at each other. Efren says something in his native language that I obviously don't understand. My girlfriend asks Bustamante what he told him. Bustamante said with a smile,"He told me he really didn't want to miss that ball." Priceless.

So does that imply he actually wanted to miss some shots on purpose in that match?

After watching the match on DVD, it seemed as if purposely let up a bit in the second match, so not to totally humiliate Sigel. ;)
