Efren still kickin it.

I love that they are playing nearly outside... and you can hear roosters crowing. I wish pool were like this in the states. People are so close to the table, loud. In the US players would be sharked... You can't shark efren.

It's quite strange to see Efren got a handicap from a player whom he used to beat quite easily some years ago.But he is still the man!

Hustlin in the Phillipines

This is why America pool is dead.
We have lost the passion.
We are pri-madonnas and everything has to be our way.
It has to be deathly quiet, we want all the money.
Love the way the are placing bets after every game even during the break.
Just like at the Cock Fights, cacophony at ts best.
Proud to be Filipino, Semper Fi.

What is the guy doing that looks like he is marking a spot on the table near a ball in the middle of the game?

he marks it with a chalk, so if a player moves it by accident then they can just return the ball to where it originally was. only the CB fouls.

Turn the Volume up... Got to Love the CHICKENS... Chicken Sharks ..lol

Edit: Talk about LMFAO... It's killing me here

I've been told, they are playing again with Efren getting a game on the wire.

Awesome video - gotta love Philippines :-)

I've been playing in many places in Philippines, and one thing is certain, everyone knows Efren, and he always attracts a crowd. I once played him in his hometown, and even the police stopped patroling and joined the crowd.

There are 2 reasons why there is such a big crowd here.

1) Efren
2) They are playing for big money, like 6 monthly salaries

If two pros/great players were gambling over 6 norwegian monthly salaries, a pool match would attract spectators here too.

Pool without gambling has no future

Love the video, thx a lot @arps from Manila for posting this. The rooster and the chickensound makes it funny too.

Imagine Spanish Eddie playing for his case 20 and having to fade the roosters.

I've only seen this sort of thing in the PI...it's poor form. Then you have different guys racking the balls.

Pretty nice table by local standards though...good lighting.

I didn't take the time to watch to whole video...I hear roosters crowing all the time and watch them get slaughtered on prime time Sabong on TV...Did Michael ever take the sunglasses off his head?

I'm more interested in Efren's "Hustlin Philippines" t shirt... I haven't seen that here...granted I only go to Manila a few times a year.

"Hustlin All The Islands" on the back?

I know it's easy to get from "Hustlin USA". But that "Hustlin Philippines" T is the rat's ass in country.

Great Video... Michael may be the next World Beater.

I love that atmosphere & would love to have a shirt like that...

Great match. Thanks for posting.

To those who think we'd have more spectators if we let them talk/yell/walkaround: I wouldn't mind it but that's not why people don't watch pool. There are too many other forms of entertainment to watch, and pool just can't compete.

You are correct about the long list of entertainment. But, in this case, I believe there is another aspect.

Efren is a local sports figure, a Hero to them, a household word, an inspiration, a world beater from their neighborhood. That is another good reason that Mommas & Poppas have their kids watching "The SHOW".

If that HUT had been bigger, there might have been more people watching.

Maybe an open arena like that, at your local Pool Hall would generate some business for your area. Notice the crowd, in the video, would hush a bit when the players were shooting. Take away some of the sterility we have.. try anything, it won't hurt. Bring in 2 Heros & get it on

Were all those guys betting FOR Michael between sets?? Do they know something we don't? Who IS this guy anyway, and why does EFREN get a handicap??

Also, what's Efren doing there (no offense meant)?? He could probably make a ton more money gambling elsewhere in the world...or maybe even just signing balls and stuff...

^michael feliciano is an up-and-coming local player. i've seen him play alcano and carlo biado, and he can pretty much match their caliber. i think there's a youtube video where michael beats efren in a race to 25.
here, efren went to michael's town/city for this match, so a lot would probably bet on michael because he's somewhat the local tier-1 player in their place. they know how good he is.
