Efren and John are matching up tonight at Gary's Victor Billiards in Victorville, CA. they are going to play a set of one pocket and 9 ball. Just a little workout before they head out to the derby. Should start about 400pm west coast time.

Efren vs. Schmidt

This match came up on short notice , so there was no time to arrange live stream, so sorry.

I guess it's good news for those 10 people close enough to drive there for tonight LOL

Efren will kill him playing one pocket.

John will kill him playing 9 ball.

I expect both of them to be lop sideded.

I don't think Efren will kill him playing 1-pocket. John has a good game and he will punish just about anybody for shooting flyers, which Efren is prone to do, especially in cheaper sets. John runs 8 and out about as good as anybody -- Mosconi style.

And I don't think John will "kill" Efren playing 9-ball. Have we forgotten Efren won a fairly big 10-ball tournament in the Philippines?

LOL watch the complete opposite happen, John will shock us and win the One Pocket and Efren will win the 9 ball, which won't be as much of a shock since he recently won a major 10 Ball event and John hasn't won anything in forever... No offense to John that's my ninja right there.

I admit that would be pretty neat if it happened like that.

Ya I tot JS forte is straight pool
Me thinks Efren has bigger speed over JS in 1P than the speed JS has over Efren in 9B
In 9B, JS probably has small miniscule edge over Efren
Efren is overall favorite
:D

Schmidt has a phenomenal 1P game. Remember the ahead set with Gentile? Or his matches with Frost, along with the year he won the DCC 1P title?

Am I the only one who thinks Efren is at least even with JS in 9-ball? Yes, Efren's 9-ball game isn't what it used to be. He won't be a favorite against Orcullo or SVB, but John isn't in their league.

I think it's a toss-up in 9-ball. If anything, I favor Efren because of his recent play. Other than the recent Mosconi Cup, I haven't heard much of John's 9-ball game. His US Open win was years ago.

John must love that people think he can only play 14.1 when all he played on the road for yrs is 1 hole😊

This match will go either way. It all depends on, how much Schmidt is practicing, how he feels mentally and what table they play on. Schmidt will not play this on the Gold Crown, so he will lock down a Diamond table, for sure. Efren will no doubt, come with some shots and great play, so JS is gonna have to play.

I would like to see Efren win both sets.

That is what it's the truth is there is.

Which John shows up? The one who hasn't played 2 hours of pool in a row in months?

They are both completely incredible players, at any pool game. Either subject to steamroll the other, in 1p or 9b.
