> I had a Meucci ferrule replacement come in a couple days ago where the customer has cracked 3 of the Atlas ABS ferrules in the last year. He asked for a stronger material. I suggested to him that it may very well be the attachment technique (tube versus capped) rather than the material, but said he didn't want it changed to a capped ferrule either. I decided to get a stick of Elforyn, and see how that worked.
So far, this stuff is NICE. It cut very clean with sharp carbide, and parted with a continuous chip using a HSS cutter
. I was even more impressed with the way it sanded and polished,as long as you kept the paper clean.
I haven't hit a ball with the cue yet,so no input about playability. It seems like I read here a while ago that others found that the material makes an obnoxious noise when used a capped ferrule,is that the deal
?
Atlas was on the ball over the phone, shipping was door to door in 2 days for an order placed LATE afternoon too
