Frankly the words expressed by some on this thread is sad. You clearly are not helping to bring the game of billiards out of decline. Which means you are doing a disservice to all of us. I take a lot of crap from the likes of you and it's sad. However, I have two young girls who are learning the game and I hope one day they too will rob you of your 21st place in the WPBA chart (yes. I know it's a woman's league, but you can't tell that this thread) as crappy B player.

Now go carve a rock caveman.

JG

Im all for women playing and competing at the highest level in pool. But let them get there with their ability and not their looks or sexy outfits. Just my .02

You missed the point.

You feel that's it ok to be hurtful, because you believe it to be true. That shows a lack of character.

I pointed out your poor grammatical skills as an example. I don't care if folks struggle with grammar here so long as they can be understood.

Good for you that you make a good living. Good for you that you play pool very well.

That still doesn't give you any special rights to insult and demean people. It is mean-spirited. No amount of money, earned or won gambling, grants you that.

It shows a lack of character.

tell me how that makes any sense at all. if you're trying to become a public figure criticism is part of the job. deal with it. she wants to become a public figure through pool, which lacks any real female talent and she got a pro status relatively easy, so we can judge anyone or anyway we want. she wants to wear a mini-skirt holding a stick, we can say she looks ****ing ugly doing it. she wants to play pro pool, we can say she sucks and she doesn't deserve it. so it's ok to call out earl strickland on here on a regular basis bc he acts up, but why do we need to have a double standard for a woman trying to play a man's game?? fuKKK THAT. she's not attractive and her game is lacking. I'm sure she's a wonderful person, we're not judging her character. and calling someone lacking character because of expressing his opinion is weak. people that lack character don't have the balls to speak their mind or act complacent. you know why nobody starts a thread like this for baretta or andoni?? because they look succulant. i would clean the chalk off their bodies with my toungue. hmmmmm, finger licking good. by the way, borana looks kinda skinny these days, she used to hgave the ost fantastic of assess

What if some dude who was a weak A player strut around in tight Thirty and short shorts , bragging about being a pro? You'd say he was delusional right??

Look if you don't make at least 40 k as a traveling pro, it's a past time not a job. So there may be 5 or so US male pros and Jeanette Lee with her APA take. Having a few small time sponsors doesn't do anything but help with expenses

She's never even made 4k never mind 40 k ,,this yrs she's yet to crack 1 k

Although I understand the WPBA's concern, I don't think that the issue here is the WPBA prohibiting their pro members from playing in amateur events, it's the other way around, it's whether amateur events should prohibit WPBA pros from playing in theirevents and whether it is ethical for a pro to even attempt to compete against the amateurs. That's where the perception of unfair advantage takes hold. Unless, of course, the event is specifically designed and intended for both amateurs and pros to play in.

J

If a pro is allowed to play in an event then I think you can safely say that the event is specifically designed and intended for both amateurs and pros.

Unless the event comes under the jurisdiction of specific WPBA rules and guidelines, any event organizer has the discretion to choose the pro ranking level cut-off for participation in their event.

There have been events in the past where the top xx ranked women pros were not allowed to participate, but women pros below that rank were allowed.

These are the facts.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. As I said before, being demeaning and downright mean shows a lack of character. That's my opinion.

Many have complained about double standards, and ladies using sex appeal to further their careers. We can debate what that means and if its damaging or unfair. But no one needs to come on a public forum and be so rude. Opinions are one thing, being demeaning and mean have no place here. Again, my opinion. If someone feels that being mean-spirited is necessary to express their opinion, it shows a lack of character to me. And many others.

Clearly you don't get enough action.

Buh-bye

no, you're opinion is downright wrong. sry. its not being rude or mean, its an opinion of a public figure.
In United States law, public figure is a term applied in the context of defamation actions (libel and slander) as well as invasion of privacy. A public figure (such as a politician, celebrity, or business leader) cannot base a lawsuit on incorrect harmful statements unless there is proof that the writer or publisher acted with actual malice (knowledge of falsity or reckless disregard for the truth).[1] The burden of proof in defamation actions is higher in the case of a public figure.

I said nothing about defamation.

Merely about character. Or the lack thereof. There is no burden of proof on that. Its kinda like art, I know it when I see it. Or when I see that it is lacking.

Common courtesy and decency don't have to be in short supply, everyone has access to an ample supply. Sadly too many don't care these days.

i get what you're saying, but if you want to be in the public eye and become part of something the mean and the rude are part of the territory. look at lebron, he became public enemy number one whe he went to miami, he dealt with fire for four years. now he's a hero again. should he have just put up his shoes and walk away from the game?? its just part of it and it has to be accepted.

Well we certainly have some total idiots around here these days. But to keep it on track I'll add this. When I started to play pool in 1966 there was a big sign in the shoe shine parlor in the front of Nick's Pool Hall in Gloucester, Massachusetts. It said NO GIRLS ALLOWED!! I am very happy to say those were the days. I have played with girls on a pool team and had the pleasure of watching many pro and non pro women play pool. I for one Thank God they are playing pool these days. They bring a much needed balance to leagues, tournaments and pool in general. Sadly they have to fade some moronic, idiotic men along the way. But they are here to stay and it's a wonderful thing!

this just contradicted the rest of your post. you cant call people idiots and than post that.

Yes, anyone in the public eye needs to be ready to accept criticism. And it won't always be polite.

That doesn't mean that this forum has to accept such behavior. We don't have to lower ourselves to that level of behavior, nor should we tolerate it.

Before you start spouting "free speech", this forum has standards of behavior, and no one has any entitlement or right to be able to disparage anyone using this forum.

Those that you pay for services from don't count...

you obviously have no clue buddy. i need not to post pictures of my girl/girls . if you know me or know anyone that knows me you would know . lmmfao

ummm. yeah when you pay for their services that doesn't count...lol:grin:

Ok... the rude and mean part are part of the territory...

Getting the rude and obnoxious on your case, may be part of the territory; however, we all make the choice whether to respond with class and dignity or to be an asshole...

It's obvious where some of the posters here have chosen to reside on that scale....

Jaden

p.s. one of the girls that is commonly referred to as being a hot pool player, I have never been personally attracted to, you will never see me post that person's name because it is rude and classless...and there's simply no reason to be mean and hateful to someone.

Do you go around to every overweight person you see and say "how's it going fatty?" Why not??? It's part of the territory of being overweight... so why don't you do it???

God you're slow. Notice the proper use of the word "you're". Somebody that cannot even figure out the difference between "you're and your" is going to lecture anyone on laws regarding slander or libel? LMAO.

You can have an opinion, but there is no reason to be cruel and stupid about it. This is a pool forum to promote and discuss pool, not to say so and so is a b1tch or ugly or stupid... this is NOT HS, even if you never graduated.

So, discuss her being a pro or not, nobody cares. She happens to dress a certain way, so what. Come down to my office and see how some of the woman dress,,, just as sexy, in a business environment. Who cares? Nobody. I'm sure there might be a few other ladies that have a negative opinion of some of the woman who dress that way, but they keep it too themselves or discuss with friends over lunch. So, if want to act like a HS b1tch, at least learn the rules.

And like the other cowards, hiding behind your (notice correct usage) keyboard. Why not tell us who you are, or would you be to embarrassed when you showed up to play pool, and everyone knew it was you ? Yeah, I thought so.

You're wrong.

I don't owe you a place to voice your opinion.
You're a guest here. You can think and say anything you wish but I don't need to allow it here.
