ethical dilemma

Here goes:

I once had something very dear. I Sold it. I have Hated that decision. The person I sold it to lost it in a match. I have been tracking the location of the object since then., (through contact with the owner).
I saw this guy, lets call him (king Air Barrel). I noticed he had my old object I had to point out that I wanted it back and he remarked something....
Lets just say He let his chopper get him in over his head and locked up a few sets with a buddy of mine and then when he was in over his head with no money to pay he fired a Air Barrel and ran out. Leaving the object. A month later the person who won the sets is ready to part with it. I asked him to call me first if he ever decided to sell it.
I have contacted the last known owner and that person told me they had given it away.

Do you think I Am I wrong if I buy it?

If you are saying the owner of the cue fired an air barrel, and left the cue there and now you call the person who did the air barrel, and they say they sold it, not telling you the truth? then you have all rights to buy it from whoever now has it, as the rightful owner has gave up any claim to the cue by saying they sold it.

If you fixed it, I still dont see why it would be a problem. The guy that fired the air barrel left it as form of payment. If the guy that recieved it as form of payment now wants to sell it I dont see any problem.

Only way to me it would be a problem is if the guy that fired the air barrel had contacted the guy that recieved the cue and made an arrangement to get the cue back and that deadline hasnt passed yet.

Is that the case?

King Left cue as "payment" for gambling with Friend
Friend gave cue away to Friend2
Now you want to buy cue from Friend2

If I have this right, there's nothing in the world wrong with that (other than King skipping out).

If she's been sold, left as payment, given away, and bought back, I think being called an object is the least of her worries!!

this is another woody quoting woody-968 (and you won't see that everyday!) and i agree with the other posters. of course circumstances alter cases, but i think i would do like i did recently and grab it back on the spot. ASAP!!!!!!!! i don't think there is much moral dilemma here, except the king air barrel's gaffe in exiting without paying. don't be playing any games cause cues get "turned" every day here, there, and everywhere. get it while the getting is good. woody(not woody-968) lol
