European Open 2025, Sarajevo, March 11-16

Naoyuki playing a little tighter to the vest than we're accustomed to, but he's executing pretty much every shot. He's just six Fargo points over Maciol, so the 7-1 scoreline is quite the surprise.

Not sure why they are calling this Maciol's first major semi. He won the Qatar Open and claimed $100,000 (the second biggest first prize in pool last year). In other words, he has been in bigger spots than this, just not in 9ball.

The match room announcers consistently ignore any non match room events.
The Kaci interview after he won an event where he corrected them that he'd won the world 10 bal already being most notable occurence but it's consistent.

Saw that event. Bigger money, but the MR setup is more pressure filled imo.

In any case it is well established WNT announcers ignore WPA events. WPA announcers do it too, btw, though it is not as quite pronounced.

Because Qatar Open was WPA and according to MR standards none of WPA tournaments matter at all.

It's OK for Matchroom to feel that way, but why not just call it Maciol's first major 9ball semifinal rather than misrepresent his credentials as a professional.

Labutis failing to capitalize on filler's first error is not a good sign. Filler 3-0.
