EXPO day 3.....
After sleeping in late I went down to watch the Pros play. First match I sat in front of the AZB stream table. Let me tell you, Jerry, and Mike have to talk at a VERY low hush. They are really only 10 to 12 feet from the table without any obstructing plexiglass to hold the noise down.
I watched Frankie Hernandez lose a real tough match to Kim Davenport. It was a real good strategic battle of the young gun battling the experienced veteran. Kim looked very good at the table, and that was my first time watching him up close.
Next up was Ralph Souqet and Oscar Dominguez.....WOW!....great thriller. Oscar got down early to Ralphs all but perfect play, but Oscar battled back and took a 9-8 lead. He finished off the match strong with a great out. Let me say this, Oscar is impressive, he kept himself pumped up during the match but not over the top. Let me tell you, early on, Ralph got a few wicked rolls on Oscar, but he never let it get to him. That young dude has a real bright future. Only thing is I have no clue how he plays with that 9? mm shaft!
After some lunch I watched Shane lose to Corey....the match is what you would think from these 2 killers. Great run outs, and the winner taking advantage of a few mistakes....coulda went either way!
last match was Faquet vs Charlie Williams.....they both played great and went to the hill with Charlie just coming up short. This young guy Faquet will be a world beater in no time! if not already!
We left then and cruised the cues again....I have my eye on a Shurtz cue with butterfly points and no wrap.....we'll see tomorrow
We just got back to the room after dinner, so I'll try to update later.
