F/S: Old school Richard Black Hoppe............

Bump for some partial specs. I'll get the rest this afternoon/
evening. PM with any questions. Thanks all.

I LOVE this cue. . .hoppe ring and ebony points/butt, just awesome.

I wish I could get some of my other cues moved, but even then I don't think I could afford this one.

Really just a shameless bump for a beautiful cue. I have yet to hit with a Black, and really hope to have one some day

Assume Richard did not sign in one of the points?

How much you want?

Interested in doing any trading?

Thanks..

No, this cue was made in '81 or '82, and I guess he didnt sign them back
then. I do have an email from Richard verifying that he made the cue.
There is no asking price because were still trying to find out about
what the cue is worth. On one hand there are issues with the cue, but on
the other, its a classic old school Richard Black. We dont want to rob
anyone, but we dont want to give it away either. Once again all, sorry
about not posting up a price, but I wish some of the more experienced
guys on here would give their opinion on the worth of the cue in the
condition that its in. Oh, and he's not interested in trades. Just a flat
out sale. Thanks and sorry again guys.

Richard did not sign prior to 84. However he has signed them after refinishing a pre 84 cue and usually adds the year the cue was originally made. This is a nice one and would look fantastic with a refinish:thumbup:

Thanks or the input. Much appreciated.

If you get a ballpark figured out, would you mind shooting me a PM? I would have to run it by the wife, and I'm sure that won't fly, but it never hurts to try. :)

You got it bud. As soon as we get a ballpark figure. I wont let this last
long without a price. We'd just love to have somewhat of a clue.:)

I understand completely. If it's not me, good luck with the sale. I love Hoppe rings, and this cue is gorgeous.

About the price??

Hey..It really surprises me that you are unable to attach a price to this cue..I have seen many of your cues and it would seem to me that you would be one of the MOST qualified to put a price on this cue. Having said that; I will take a stab at it..Given the condition of the cue and the fact that the issues it has are somewhat serious in the present resale market..ie. The cue is not straight..I would estimate the value at between $1000 and $1200..The only real guage I use when determining value is "What would I pay for it?" Best of luck with your pricing and sale...

Yessir, I understand. I have sold plenty of cues, but they were all in good
condition and straight. They were not old collectables from 30 years ago.
Also, they didnt have all of these issues. I personally have never dealt with
a cue like this before. Also, it isnt mine. I gave him my opinion with the
stipulation as it was only a guess. I honestly am not nearly sure of the
worth of this cue. Thanks again.

I own..and have owned a few Richard Blacks. A couple of my friends have them also. I was gonna guess exactly what ToomnyQs said.... $1000 - $1200 sounds about right. $1200 may be stretching it a little, but definately in that zone sir.

Send Walker in Tn a pm he is the one that knows Richards cues and their value! He may buy it...Ron

I've got a 1980 model that I ordered from Richard that begs to differ with you. I saw several pre-1984 cues with signatures and dates in the late 70's/early 80's.

Oh, and a free bump.

Scott
