fantasy bonus ball

Isn't the real one a fantasy!? :D

I don't think BB is a fantasy—let's give it a bit more credit than that. At least it started and a we can imagine A LOT OF WORK went into that alone.

It certainly is still a dream and for sure, a dream of mine.
A dream that if it becomes a reality many of us will be thanking Larry, et. al., for their innovation.

No doubt, a league like this will produce a "trickling down" effect. Stay positive, people......

The "trickling down" is someone taking a p!ss on you and telling you it is raining.

I hate to say it but you can't fight Karma! Bonus Ball has put a lot of negative energy in the pool world and can not expect the boomerang effect ain't going to catch up with them. Kick em right in the a$$!

IMO a lot of that negative energy about Bonus Ball has been the result of undue from-the-hip criticisms from fellow industry pundits. Many I speak of present their insults backed with little to no firsthand knowledge of what they are belittling. This in turn somehow compels other to join the bashing bandwagon; anonymity is great at producing unaccountability.

If anyone thinks that creating an innovative product and trying to do something positive for the pool world is bad then we are deeply missing the point.

We should be supporting them. A change in pool is needed that's for sure. That change however, is looking more as if it needs to be made in the mindset of the average player.
I suppose until THAT changes all we are going to hear from the "railbirds" is the same old insults and negative reinforcements.

It's truly tiring.

Dude,

I was a very high level Junior player and in the top 30 at Derby for a few years while holding down a JOB and two kids. I am far from a "railbird" and far from uninformed! The FACTS are from PLAYERS directly involved and not MYSTERIOUS "industry pundits" and I am quoting you there! I have my picture on my AVATAR and am hiding from no one! My name has been placed on numerous post and is very easy to ascertain who I am.

Pool does not need a "Change", the pro players need a reality check! Shane did not get taken like the others and neither did Alex the lion or Mike the fireball Dechaine! I wonder why? They smarter than the rest? They ask the right questions and get no answers? They mandated a signed copy of their contract? They took the contract to their lawyer? Why are they the BIG winners in the whole fiasco???

To come on here with your rhetoric and opinion of what WE should get behind with total disregard to the EGGS they had to break along the way is really in poor taste! It is like saying i won the race but ran over 3 or 4 kids on my way to the finish line! But, hey its ok we just lost a young Albert Einstein, Mozart & Steve Jobs! What the world need with them three? Give me a break!

I think the change that is needed is better promotion and presentation to the non pool playing public. The games are fine without new gimmicks and ring girls and such. When we get to the point all the pros have mastered all the games maybe they will present us with something more competitive that satisfies their need for a challenge. Bonus Ball ain't gonna get it done.

There are more than a lot of knowledgeable people who reached out to the Bonus Ball team between 2009 (when they started to promote it) and the actual 'big launch'.

Many warned them and what happened is they looked down on everyone in this industry, explaining how they didn't need any of the people in it, the sponsors, and put the players in the middle by conflicting with the calendars.

To this day, the apologies they would need to make haven't even began to appear as they still are running things like it's all fine.

Truth is, it's the biggest disaster to hit our industry for a long time, and they made sure everybody in the industry wouldn't help them get back up by the way they behaved.

Ah! The 'big picture' that was mentioned so many times... It might be the global state of pro pool in 2014.

Let's talk about this in one year, with facts and figures.
